So since this was resurrected from the dead, what car did your friend end up getting? How is it?

Damn, going from a 12,000 budget for a salvage titled car to a 47,000 car.

I might not be able to see his A5 car because he is planning to buy it next year and I should have left this country already by that time.

Update: the Altima is up for sale. He should buy a BMW 328i as soon as the Altima is sold.

I never had my Gen dyno'd but , I see mildly tuned Gen's with bolt ons putting down around 250 HP. The genCoupe forum has a thread much like our forum for dyno numbers. Obviously, the thread is full of full builds, mildly modded and wildly modded, but for under $1000 you can squeeze out 260 HP peak. This is about average with bolt ons for BK2 2.0T GenCoupe. It weighs 3400 lbs stock, I trimmed off 100 lbs pretty easy, so lets say it's 3300 lbs. This all varies a lot according to the tune and mods, obviously.

That's 157.6 WHP/ton (using a short ton, as standard). If we went with stock.... 240 WHP for 145 WHP/ton. Of course, the Gen has a LOT more torque (though with the base level 2.0T, it comes with an open diff, so that torque is just useful to shred a rear tire), though E85 really does increase torque by quite a bit. The twins have a much better clutch and driveline so it's not as big of a difference as you'd think.

I have had my car dyno'ed and for much less than $1000 in power-related mods, I put down 197 WHP and I have weighed my car at 2735 lbs. My major mod is E85 and OFT tune.

That's 144.1 WHP/ton. That's getting real close to the stock 2.0T and given the reduced weight of the twins, it'd be a close race in a straight line even.

Went someplace a few months back and parked next to a Gen Coupe. Driver was coming out as I was going in. He started up conversation, saying he looked at FRS/BRZ because he wanted a fun driver's car but he didn't like lack of power so he went Hyundai. I shrugged, said "Its a little over 2700 lbs, so I'm fine with it." He said, "Yeah, but mine's 350 hp and weighs 2,800 lbs."
I just said, "I think you need to Google that."

That pretty much sums up my opinion of Genesis coupe drivers.
