I couldn't resist fellas. I went and changed my order (technically created a new order) and got a performance package instead. I wont ever need the upgrades the PP offers but... brembo because brembo.

I owe a huge thanks to Fairway Subaru in Greenville SC for creating a new order for me. They now have two 17' WR Blue BRZ's on the way because of me (oops). Great guys over there.

Does anyone know if the wheels that come with the performance pack are forged?

Yeah, very unlikely. I suspect they are Enkei MAT cast wheels though because that is usually what Subaru uses for limited runs like these. So better than your average wheel but not as nice as a forged BBS.

Series.Blue had STI x Enkei MAT rims.

An STI x BBS forged rim is about 3 to 4 times the price as an STI x Enkei MAT rim.

Here is a link to a very in-depth study I did on who manufacturers each part in the Subaru BRZ/Toyota 86:

http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=71898

The Series Blue used Enkei MAT wheels which look very similar. Subaru has also very often used Enkei MAT wheels for other performance or special edition runs. So I'd say there is a 95% chance they will be Enkei MAT. But I will wait to confirm when I get the car.

Enkei MAT is not an inferior technique and the price difference with a BBS forged rim is very small. My Enkei rims had a cost of 47,000 JPY per piece and a similar BBS forged rim had a cost of 48,600 JPY. These are catalog prices from their Japan sites. Where did you find a 3 to 4 times price difference? Maybe a limited edition BBS rim for STI?

Not limited editions just standard catalog items:

Well here is the first piece of information we have gotten about the wheels although very vague.

10-spoke aluminum-alloy wheels
Visually, the black 17 x 7.5-inch, 10-spoke aluminum-alloy wheels are a perfect complement to the fiery yellow paint scheme of the BRZ Series.Yellow. More than just eye candy, these wheels are lightweight and stiff, accentuating the responsive handling of the Series.Yellow.

So apparently they are marketing them as lightweight, we can at least expect them to be flow formed (MAT).

BTW this was pulled from the 2017 guided tour if you haven't already looked it over.
