Wow, thank you. Did you switch from the MXP to Magna? Magna sounds a bit better, but a lot quieter.

Yeah, I switched from MXP to Magnaflow.

It may just be me, but these paired up with a UEL caused drone that kept giving me headaches in the morning while I headed to university. The video makes both sound quite tame. The MXP probably can be heard 3-4 blocks down. I've heard the MXP catback with a full stock header,OP,FP. It sounds pretty nice. But when you go with an aftermarket UEL without a cat, it makes it super loud and droney.

Pros of Magnaflow
Way less drone (still a bit there around 3000-4000 under load)
Neighbors don't hate me
Not a cop magnet

Pros of MXP
Audible engine popping sounds that makes it sound more like a racecar
Fills the exhaust hole of the bumper better
Adjustable tips

I'm actually contemplating changing out the magnaflow for a Perrin 3" catback just because I'm getting a turbo soon. But I'm holding off for now.

Here is mine (Cold Start, first) and then some quick warm revs/idle. As you can hear, the cold start sounds AWFUL.

Once warm, it has a nice deep tone

My setup is: Tomei UEL and Overpipe, stock front pipe, eBay 2.75" stainless catback which is an invidia N1 knockoff.

How much louder was the MXP vs Magnaflow? Big difference? I like loud, but I don't want ungodly loud on cold startup.

Well, it's all subjective. Three of my fellow FT86Vancouver buddies have the MXP RS because they liked the sound (one of them I traded MXP<->magnaflow). For me, I'm moving on to quieter things.

The MXP exhaust would rattle my entire house. If I was in the garage, it would rattle my neighbor's house too (Townhouse complex, so units are all attached).
Quite loud to the point I felt bad for the people that have to hear my cold start. I banned myself from leaving in the morning or coming home late at night due to the sound. I kept trying to convince myself that it was fine, until my neighbor sent me a letter quoting noise laws in my area.

I used a sound metering app on my samsung S5. The magnaflow would read around 84db on cold start, and drop to 78-80db on idle.

I would assume (just guessing, no actual measurement) that the MXP would be around 87-89db on cold start, and around 83-85db on idle. Again, just guesstimates.
