My prediction is that when we see the 17's on the dyno we see 5-10 peak horsepower, a massive reduction in torque dip and torque all throughout the power band. The car will feel like one with a header and a tune, and the media will sing its praises. Forum warriors will still cry that it doesn't have a factory turbo and it still rattles like a 25k Subaru.

Good luck with that. It is one thing to slap on a catback or a drop-in filter, but if you put a non-factory tune in the car and you blow an engine you should full expect to kiss your warranty goodbye. Maybe you get lucky and you flash back to stock and they don't check your flash count, but I wouldn't count on that. Maybe your dealer is mod friendly and wants the check from Subaru/Scion so they don't investigate further, but again you would be lucky. At the end of the day you have to pay to play.

Obviously I meant from the factory, and not aftermarket options.
I have a Tomei but no tune yet as the car is under warranty.

True I was referring to just the header itself but with the tune you are correct. Dealers will probably check the flash count on the ecu.

More Horsepower!

Actually- with 50 hp more it will be like a s2k. S2k has around same torque with 240hp. It drives very similarly normally but pulls hard when revved.

It has been said time and time again these cars do not have a "flash counter" in fact many cars have been flashed back to stock and had warranty repairs with much success and I have yet to see a case where the dealership has figured out there was a tune on the car, it would take some serious ecu dismantling to even begin to notice it's been tampered with, which will never happen as it would take extreme disassembly of an ECUs code. Quite frankly after flashing back to stock with an OFT its a simple ROM so it leaves 0 footprint. As for ecutek after flashing back to stock the ecu becomes unlocked again and also leaves 0 footprint. I've used tech-stream before and it can't even tell the difference between an OFT rom and stock, nor is there any flash counter to be found. If you did research you would know this.

Your car will be louder and depending on whether its catted or cattless will determine the overall loudness. Cattless will be louder vs catted but both will increase sound but it shouldn't be crazy loud. Most consider JDL, Tomei, Grupple-S, and HKS to be quality headers. The factory only sells the stock header you already have.
@Cole is being sarcastic I believe, but it leaves a good point a lot of people are completely clueless on the forum even though there are multiple stickies of the correct course of action if you go that route
