Hi!

Did you need Hub Centric rings or Spacers for the Wheels at all? I have just got these for my fronts and am trying to determine all the other components I will need. Thanks!

No spacers needed but I did need hub centric rings. Also had to pick up new lug nuts as the stock ones won't fit. I bought my wheels from DSG performance and they gave me a package deal for $1800 that included wheels, locking muteki lugs (SR35 12x1.25 35mm), hub rings (65.1mm to 56.1mm) and center caps.

Did some brake upgrades a couple weeks ago! Installed the Radium MCB before everything else to see if it made a detectable difference and boy did it! Really makes a big difference with pedal feel and feels better for the driver actually knowing when you are at the bottom of the brake.

After I drove around with just that on for a week, I did pads and fluid. Went with Project Mu G-Four 335 fluid and NS400 street pads. Doing the brake bleed took a little longer than I was expecting but I was being extra careful since it was my first time ever doing something like that. Swapping out the pads was super easy and expect to get a set of track pads once I get more into going to the track now that I know how quick it can be done.

Overall I feel a lot better about my ability to bring the car to a stop. Obviously it wasn't an extreme change since my pads are just OEM upgrade and still are low noise/low dust. Initial bite is similar to OEM but offer pretty decent modulation and are supposed to not fade as quickly.

Wow, been too long since I have been able to update this! Been saving up for some big thangs. Orders were all placed this week to combo with a couple things I have ordered here and there. Just got word that a critical component is on back order for a week or 2, but hopefully I will have everything installed by the end of the month! I might post a few updates before then for the other things I can add on while I wait...

I'm really excited to install them and see how they ride. I've only heard great things. As with everything else on my build, I've learned to do it once and do it right.

Still waiting on a couple other bits to arrive then I will be sure to have this thread updated with plenty of images and a brief first impressions review

Nice. What other suspension components are you going to install with the RCE T2s?

I got these and I'm not really thrilled with them: http://usa.ast-suspension.com/websho...aru-brz-detail

They seem fine, but I was expecting way more for $2,500

Wow, those seem wayyyy too expensive for a 1-way adjustable coil. Did they have some sort of redeeming feature to explain the price?

I am also installing some whiteline endlinks, SPL LCAs, RCE camber plates in the front and also decided on getting the pillowball mounts for the rear. I don't anticipate needing much more than that, but also almost pulled the trigger on some toe arms. Figured I would rather wait and see if they are actually necessary or if the stock arms will have enough adjustment for me.

I know they have a lot of droop travel and the damper itself is supposed to be very high quality. Other than that, not sure. It's definitely really stiff with 6k f 7k r spring rates.

Nice selection of supporting parts! I also went with SPL LCAs and rear toe arms w/ lockout. Got Raceseng top hats up front and OEM rears, SuperPro endlinks in front and torque solutions in back. Kindof a mishmash of different brands.

What kind of alignment will you be going for? What kind of tires?

I almost went with the SPL toe arms..I'm sure they are nice. How much drop did you incorporate? I wasn't sure if I would need them. I'm only looking to drop about 1-1.25". I also looked at the Raceseng top hats! Those are really nice. Wasn't sure if I would find much use in the caster adjustment so I went with RCE since I knew they would work, were cheaper, and have a nice notch system for adjustment.

I'm going for a slightly more aggressive DD alignment that will still work on the track. I will be requesting -2 camber/0 toe in front and -1.5 camber/.08" toe in for the rear. Those seem to be generally agreed upon as a good starting point and I can determine if I want to add more camber later on.

Tires currently are MPSS. I've really liked them so far; they provide good grip in the dry and handle the wet as well which is a big plus living in Seattle. I haven't run them on the track yet, but don't think I'm good enough to really be pushing the boundaries of these tires. I was also thinking about running the RE-11s when these tires die out.

My car is still my daily driver, but I try to get on the track when I can. It ends up making me make compromises in some areas. Maybe some day I will be able to afford a set of light track wheels with some grippy tires and a set of track pads. Might even pick up some track pads this next season since it's not too much of an investment.

I'm a little over 3/4" drop, maybe 1". Still wanted to keep driveability.

I'm at -2.1 camber .02toe front and -1.2 camber .1toe back.

Running RE71R tires and absolutely love them!

Did you need toe arms for that amount of drop or did you just opt to upgrade?

Are you happy with your alignment settings?

I was looking at those tires too! Just didn't really want to pull the trigger on a radial, especially since I drive in the wet often.

Do you DD your 86 or is it more of a trackrat?

I didn't "need" them, but I have a weakness for over engineered titanium parts.

I am pretty happy so far with this alignment, but I need to get more seat time on it yet. I really haven't taken it out enough to test it yet.

It's my only car but my commute is only about 5 miles, so I figured I would start turning into a track prepped car.

Unfortunately I'm afraid to take it to the track. It's like a strange phobia. I'm weird. So for now I'll just drive around a track prepped car on the street. :/
