No updates for right now. Few of our units are in the wild and I'm waiting for some more pictures to trickle in.

If we were to expand this potential fix to a 1st and 2nd gear kit, including a counter shaft as 1st and 2nd would be machined directly into it, does anyone have some ratios they'd suggest? I was personally thinking a taller 1st, similar to stock second, maybe just a hair shorter to keep revs up?

If we were to bring this to market we would need to settle on one MAYBE two ratios as price breaks come in quantity of course.

Just something to think about, .

Well I don't have high horsepower, hell I'm still on stock power. But I am now on Transmission number 2.

make a full set so almost all of the potential issues will be resolved, it would be worth the price for the peace of mind. my tremec finally came in so at last ill have a working transmission again, but I like what you guys have been doing and it hasn't taken forever to come up with test units lol.

Glad to hear you finally have something to go with and won't have an issue with.

We don't see a need for 5th unless 5th gear starts breaking it's dog teeth. 5th literally connects input to output, doesn't use a gear at all. However, I guess that gear could start breaking eventually in 1-4 as power is transmitted through it to the counter shaft, but it is BEEFY in comparison to all the other gears. 6th... who wants a straight cut 6th? 1-4 should cure pretty much anything and still be daily drive-able without being ridiculously loud.

Should also be less expensive than the 3/4/output shaft kit as the output shaft itself is what is so expensive (24" long piece of large diameter chromoly with a lot of machine work needed). So pricing should be reasonable and I'm sure some people would like the peace of mind.

PAR did a full straight cut set, no point in competing with that.

Unfortunately I do not. I had the trans replaced under warranty and the dealership has my old transmission. The transmission at 34k miles started to whine quite loudly to the point where it sounded like I had a supercharger and was audible from outside the car. Like I said was still on stock power and was changed under warranty at 34k miles. The notes from the dealer do not give any details about why or what was exactly the matter besides them putting down they checked for physical damage to trans and checked the trans fluid. All testing came out good so they determined it was something internal causing the issue then proceeded to replace the whole trans as well as change the throw out bearing.

According to PAR, their manufacturing process reduces the whine. I will let you know when I get them installed around April if 6th is too loud or not.

Local customer stopped by with another trans to look at. No issues shifting, but he had been boosted (twin turbo) for 40k miles. Over 300wtq while turbo'd. 55k total on original, very early MY 2013.

What broke:
2nd gear shredded, no shift issues appeared, no other major damage noted.

How it broke: Rolling into 2nd gear getting onto the highway. Not shifting, not being rough with it, just rolling on the throttle.

Past use: Car was used as a daily but also drifted, tracked, and auto-crossed. Clutch kicks in 2nd gear did happen while drifting.

Pictures below:

Updating first post as well.

Thanks,
Eric

Might be the wrong thread but my 4th gear just started crunching/grinding at higher rpm shifts, already had tranny fluids switched to Motu tool. Turbocharged and wasn't beating on it too hard either. I'll switch the fluid again in the next few weeks to try and rule that out and I'll post my results, would hate to have a gear go out!

@VeloxEric have you guys looked into creating a billet clutch release fork at all? I have heard a couple people have broken or bent their forks after getting stiffer clutches and there was a rumor that designcraft fab was working on one, but that was almost a year ago and now no one that I know of can get ahold of them. Is this something you guys could or would even look into creating at some point?

That is something we can definitely do. The obvious question is if there is enough interest. We have to be picky with our projects since we're such a new company and investing time and money into any and every project means taking time and money away from others.

Do you have any pictures, threads, etc on this issue so I can look at the failure point and potentially see if there is enough interest.

By sufficient interest I would say 10+ people with immediate need would be enough for us to design something up and test.

Here are just a few that I could find for now if that helps. I could probably scrounge up a few people that would be interested.
