I have really enjoyed following your build and watching for updates. Perfection thus far!

Great project
Not tempted by the STI short shift?

Yes, was tempted for a bit. But it seems like their short shift kits are just another requisite STI part across all Subaru cars. It only exists because it was forced by committee. Stock already feels right (to me). Plus I remember reading Toyota tried to get the shifter feel just right (honing things like lever arm and shift effort). So why mess with success?

Love this look.
How much did you STi lips cost you? You just sold me on them, congrats. (Work has japanparts.com blocked) |

Edit: I see your work has japanparts.com blocked. I would estimate around $2.3k including shipping but you can check it when you get home! :p

switch, you need a BRZ STI shift knob in your life. Mine should be in by Friday, hopefully.

My next BRZ will be WRB. Wonder how the STi lips would look on DGM. Pretty decent you think?

![]() If I ever were to change it, I'd probably go for the TRD knob. Sometimes I dream about how my palm would sink into the concavity and how it might enhance the feel of each shift. It seems like TRD really obsessed over little things like this in all their parts.

Thanks man. Yeah! She's a waitress at a restaurant down my street. Just asked if she was willing to model. Being honest and direct actually works lol

I was considering the TRD shift knob, too, but I don't like the cross-stitching. It contrasts with the linear-stitching. I thought the 6-speed knobs just pop in and out while the 5-speeds require screwing in?
I'm looking at getting the knee pads and front door speaker padded surrounds from the GT-86. It'll finish the interior quite nicely, matching the other red-stitched leather pieces. I REALLY love your SAA blue cover in the engine! I've been eyeballing that since they came out! I might purchase it in the next week if nothing important comes up. I would like to get on a steady flow of parts arriving at my doorstep (or on my desk, as they have been this past week). |
