During the winter, maybe once a month depending on weather conditions. But that's when winter prep is very important. I like to polish/seal, and wax the car before the winter months, during the fall weather.

During the spring, summer, and fall, usually once a week depending if it has rained a lot. I drive with the windows down 80% of the time so a lot of dust can get inside the cabin. I don't have a garage so my car is always exposed to the elements. Plus I love to look at a shinning car as I walk away from it.

Almost daily through the summer.
The problem is now I have two to wash.
One takes MUCH longer and requires a ladder to do the roof.

That is no Subaru Outback!

Answer to OP: every other week at least, whenever it's dirty and looks more pollen than lava

Nope. Wife went from an Impreza to an Outback to the Ascent. I pray they don't decide to make a bigger model!

Jeez that is a big one. I feel your pain when i wash my wife's CX5, but the Ascent is quite a bit bigger than that. Congrats on the new ride.

I use one of those aluminum standing platforms that fold up for storage rather than a ladder. Works great, and the platform comes in handy when you're polishing/coating/waxing/ whatever.

Well the reality is that the roof only gets thought washed to the points I can reach standing on the door sills.

It was, and it was worse then. I probably only washed it once a year since I drove it only about 400 miles. It's back to my daily driver and the R32 is now my second car.

I haven't been able to find a mobile detailer that works for me yet at my new location. i did have one guy who did it after we moved here since the car was filthy but since then have been using the self-wash but not using the brush just the hose and soap.
