I side mounted my 15 lbs Braille AGM. Any battery that is able to be mounted on side can be done like this if anyone prefer that way.

This battery is still going. -5 degree (C) starts are still no drama. I really really like the built in low voltage switch-off.

So that's the same battery from 2013 going strong? That voltage cutoff seems like a much needed feature

Ouch when I saw the prices of the Voltsfreaks I think I will just come up with a cutoff valve for a Shorai battery

Just went with the Shorai http://shoraipower.com/lfx36l3-bs12-p130 . This is the bigger one at 5lbs but should have more juice for DD'ing. I will also keep my small cellphone size jumper(1lb) in the glovebox in case.

I've had the Shorai LFX36 for 3 years now, Daily driven and have never used a battery tender on it. It's the best battery I've owned so far... My OEM battery puked up acid after 1.5 years... had to replace the positive lead after it corroded itself and basically got welded to the OEM battery pole.

That is very assuring news. Has any of that time been in winter conditions. I think it says to keep it above 0 degrees or run the headlights for a few minutes before cranking |

I think Anthony has started the car in winter condition without any issues, and he runs a smaller shorai. |

PC925 has been in my 2005 Subaru Forester XT for 3 years now.
The car is driven once a week, and is my bad weather DD, so it won't do anything for a week, and then will be cold started and driven to work three days in a row during some bad weather/storms. No starting issues, and even drove the car back about 20 minutes on back roads when my alternator failed. No issues starting in -15f. (low compression 2.5l)
