In this anigif, the guy's back tires are locked at first while the fronts are spinning. To my knowledge, only way to do that is w/ the handbrake. When I wanted to throw my ol' '92 Celica around (FWD) in the snow and ice, I used the handbrake all the time to induce skids, donuts, and fun little fast maneuvers into parking spots just for fun.

On RWD cars, I just did it w/ the gas pedal; break traction in the back, then feather the throttle to control the amount of skid or slide while dialing in the right front wheel tracking w/ the steering wheel. Handbrakes, typically, aren't strong enough to lock up the rear wheels on dry pavement, at least not in my experience. What's going on in the clip above?

Just curious.. go ahead, school me.. I'm here to learn.

edit: never mind.. just looked closer; his fronts are locked up too when he induced the skid.

Thanks..

Barry

Rather than the wheel being locked, could it be Wagon-wheel effect?
