The time has finally come, and I'm installing a JRSC C30 in my '15 FRS in the next few weeks.
Everything is currently stock on this car, and I just passed the 70K mile mark. Just did a full OEM clutch/flywheel replacement (was replacing the shitty OEM release bearing, so I went ahead and did the rest while I was in there), along with the rest of the 65K maintenance. I don't track it, it's my daily driver w/ about an hour a day spent in it split pretty evenly between highway and city traffic. For now I'm sticking to 91/93, but I may go in on a FlexFuel kit in the next couple of years for some E85 goodness. I've seen some conflicting info in this thread and elsewhere on what other equipment is needed for peace of mind with this super, e.g. extra oil coolers and injectors etc. Is any of that really necessary for a daily driver? I'm in Las Vegas which right now is getting up to 110° F... should that make me concerned enough to burn some more cash on cooling? Also, I have a station near me that sells 100 fuel. I know that performance increases cease pretty much at 93, but would the right tune get me anything out of it? Last edited by Escher; 07-10-2020 at 12:04 AM. |

Will it be better for the car? Yes. How much cash you want to spend is up to you. If you're not doing E-85 yet you can hold off on the injectors and fuel pump, yes you can run the C30 and stock (low boost) pulley and E-85 without upgrading them but again, it's better if you do. A custom tune can get you gains with 100 octane but unless you can guarantee that you'll be running that in every single tank I wouldn't do it. |

as for the tune, just tune it on 93 or whatever you said was local, i wouldnt bother with the 100. 93 is the bread and butter, dont get carried away.

well i can tell you this once you get it you will not stop the feel you get cant be expressed i have a c38 and love it. also if you are getting a supercharger plan on spending at least 10,000 on the support moods needed of course that includes the supercharger. some people will say BS but to have it done right and really enjoy it that will be around what you need. delicious tuning are some awesome guys to work with and are very helpful with what you need. not to mention Jackson racing will give you advice also. I drive mine whenever i can for a daily driver no track or racing.

FINALLY got to the track with the supercharger on, and I can not describe the joyful sensation of once being slow, and now NOT being slow(relatively) on the straights. I was able to pass or keep up with just about everyone outside of the ZL1s and C7s. Max oil temp was 242, max IAT was 150 and the motor/blower was rock steady for 3 sessions at VIR.

Unsustainably? 500+ You're not gonna get any LS swap done for remotely close to 10k unless you're doing all the labor yourself with zero time value. |

I gave up on adding up how much I spend on the car, nobody likes to see men cry.
Definitely not cheap, but there are ways you can reduce the cost (at a risk of course). I bought my kit used for $2.5k with an alleged 5k miles on it, so far I've had no issues with it. I installed everything myself, I bought the fuel pump as an open box item but I went overboard with the injectors (1,200 cc). You can get away with less money if the car is for street only. Due to a bad tuning experience, I won't be surprised if the engine blows but I'm already saving up for some forged internals. If I get a differnet exhaust I might be able to squeeze more power out of my setup, but exhaust alone will be another $2k. |

I'm looking at a JRSC and I would like to run it with a perrin oil cooler. Is this possible without too much fiddling with drills?
