You do need a helmet. It needs to be DOT approved, but not SNELL. Visors and face shields are not needed. Just a healthy helmet will do.

You need closed-toe shoes. Shorts are okay. Long pants are not needed.

You just need to show up and pick a spot to park. The PCA autocross manager will come around and assign everyone a number and collect the 30 bucks to run. Another club member will come around and check to make sure your lugs are tightened to factory specs. But as for equipment inspection that is about it.

So, all you need is a car, a helmet and 30 bucks.

Other guys bring some tools and food and water. But that's it. There are two port-a-potties out there. If its your first autox ever then usually someone will ride with you on your first few runs. The group that is usually out there ranges from 20 to 70 years old. Cars range from everything but typically I see Porsches(go figure), Vettes, Miatas, Mustangs, S2000s, EVOs and a BRZ just once. In fact I think there is a youtube video of the WRB BRZ at the sheriffs track.

Thanks for the great info! Just got a new FR-S and I am planning on attending on September 7th . Looking forward to it!

I will be there for sure. Its a good time and doesn't take all day. I brought out a buddy of mine in his new WRX, and he did real good considering he has never owned a stick. He was never a car guy or cared about racing, but just fell in love with getting on the track.

Hope to see you there

The Local PCA Club was at the sheriffs track running autocross this weekend. We did have one extra BRZ show up out there. Carlos, I am not sure of your username but for a first autocross you did real well and showed a great improvement over your 8 runs. I wished I had more time to talk to you yesterday, I kept getting caught up with board member talk.

We had a dozen or so Porsches, Fiat, Scions, Corvette, S2000 and a really good looking Aston Martin.

Starting in October the autocross will have a show-up time of 1100am to 1145am. Track will be hot by 1215pm. Most days will end around 2:30 to 3:00. I will post a video on here of me in my BRZ. Once I learn how the hell to do it.

Please come on out in October. I would like to have more FRS/BRZs representing on the track. Plus the track we are on is much more than just cones in a parking lot. If anyone has questions please feel free to ask. Hope you had fun Carlos, and that you will come back out.

brzapi - It turns out I was the one that PM'd you over track question some time back.

I had a great time out there. I can see my self getting addicted to the adrenaline rush you get wile driving. Started with a 91 sec. lap and ended in 82 sec on my last one. Got a lot to learn and that excites me and definitely will recommend it to everyone to head out there and enjoy it.

This is only half of the cars that attended.

You get to learn a lot about your car, and can do so in relatively safe way. We did have an accident this past weekend. But the car is fixable and the driver was unhurt. @ganz954 - you did really good with progressing. Kept pushing more each run, and you went home with a healthy car. That's a good AX day.

PLEASE NOTE: October and November are showing 11:00am show up time. With an 11:45am cut off time. That means the track will be hot around 12:15pm.

The PCA autocross schedule is listed on www.pca-warbonnet.org . Then click on "CALENDAR" to see the autocross dates and times. They do update sometimes, so please check. Unless it is badly raining or snowing we will be running.

So not the best video. But it shows that the sheriffs course is much more than just a typical AX parking lot. The layout still changes every month. There is much more to the track than what you see in the video.

And yes, that is me and my BRZ. I didn't do to bad that day.
