I have Enkei wheels on my NSX and Supra. They are relatively inexpensive and are pretty lightweight, so I would consider a set of either the RP03's or PF01's for my FR-S or BRZ.

That is a very nice/clean NSX you got there. Very nice. I was almost a signature away from leasing a NSX the last year it was available. If I recall it was like $750 a month lease deal, but with only 7k miles per year. Always wanted one. If I could ever find a mint condition one I might just buy it to be a garage queen.

Could of gotten a NSX for 25k but after looking at it and talking to the guy who own it I decided against it. 250xxxKM on it and the guy talked about how awesome the chrome rims look on the car.....

I must say tho you own my 2 (semi affordable) dream cars

The I-beam profile of the spokes is more efficient in terms of stiffness to weight ratio. It's function over form.

The last few years that the NSX's were on sale Acura literally couldn't give them away. I remember a salesguy telling me he would buy me lunch for a year if I'd lease one. LOL I had an Acura dealer down the block from my office at the time. I guess that's what happens when a car that first sold for $60k sells for $95k in relatively the same form.

I always think this about the GT-R too. Pretty much the same thing is happening with it as did the NSX.

Getting back on track...

Due to the fact that in Los Angeles, you "have" to valet everywhere you go and because valet's always ding up your rims. I tend to like my rims with some style, but easily and replaceable on the cheap. So... I've been told that ASA makes good rims and they are cheap. I guess they license the same procedure/method of production as BBS does from BBS. So anyone like their rims? I've seen a few and they look pretty good and real cheap too.

I have ASAs on my Legacy for winter beater rims, and they are HEAVY. It's probably just the kind I got, but they're one inch smaller than my STOCK summer rims, and they're heavier than the stockers lol.

The STi moved from the 04 STi 5x100 hubs to the 05+ 5x114 due to pad knockback. I sold my 04 STi because the pad knockback was real annoying and I lost confidence with the brakes. One good thing about pad knockback is that it forced me to learn left foot braking.

I really hope the FT-S/BRZ doesn't suffer from pad knockback!!!

I want to get 17x8 or 8.5 Volk TEs for this car. Any wheels over 15lbs will be too heavy for a low hp/tq car, so Rotas are out of the question. The standard 17" rear Volk TE for the Elise will do just fine!

yes! but milled spokes isnt new, and it wasnt that popular for JDM wheels. that is until Weds made the SA55M and SA60M with colored-in milled spokes. one year later at this year's tokyo auto salon, all of a sudden there are a lot of milled (and some colored) spokes around.

Advan RSII is a RS with milled spokes. the rays G12 and G25, gram lights 57 Xtreme SP, the enkei RSM9 and GTC01RR, etc... all of these wheels IMO are influenced by the weds wheels of last year.

studs shearing has never been an issue that I know of. The 5x100 and 5x114.3mm, as we Subaru guys call it, are drastically different. The 5x114.3 cam with beefier uprights/spindles that houses larger bearings to help the pigs with sticky tires and corner. The hubs on the 5x100 had also changed through the years too but kept the same bearing.

The STi rear CV's have been known to fail at the drag strip once you start putting down some good power and have tires to hook. The bars actually twist up fail. The Chromoly housing hold up quite well. Then once you're on a serious drag setup (600+) and are on slicks, the housings really start failing.


As for wheels that I'll run, I'll probably just run some RPF1's as they're relatively cheap and light.
