Getting back to talking about shit.

I'm too damn old for this shit.

I noticed a water leak in our guest (the granddaughters) bathroom toilet.

So, I went down under the house, in the unfinished part of the basement, to see if/where the water was coming through the floor. Yep, I found it.

While I was down there I caught a whiff of "septic". Wait, we are on sewer, how could that be! So, armed with my trusty military mag light, I followed my nose to a dug out part of the unfinished basement.

DAMD - it looked like a open septic tank next to the foundation where the drain (yes, and sewer) pipes converge into the clean out "T" that goes out the side sewer line.

OK, I went and put on my hip boots and looked closer. Sure enough the 4" PVC main line that hooked into the "T" was leaking - leaking A LOT!

Of course this was last Saturday - don't things like this ALWAYS happen on the weekend. So, I called my son-in-laws father (who is a plumber - retired) for some advice - he never returned my call. I knew my son-in-law wouldn't be any help, he can't even empty a litter box without gagging.

So, equipped with a roll of duck tape and a bunch of rags, I put a "band aid" on where the pipe was split open. Well, that slowed the flow to a dribble.

Meanwhile, I fixed the toilet leak.

Then I went up to the hardware store and got some JB Weld epoxy putty and some JB Weld super duper epoxy type duct type tape. Yep, got er patched up and it's holding - so far.

MAYBE, I will have a plumber come out and do a proper fix - depending how things go with the income tax lady next week.

Thanks for reading - I have no one else to talk about this with - mrs humfrz just shudders and shakes her head.

Augh! That sucks! This stuff is amazing. Takes a little practice. Don't need to stretch it much.

Thanks. I think I saw that at the hardware store. I'll get some if this other stuff doesn't work.

Did you smell anything when you were down there in the back part of the basement (besides musty earth smell)?

Hey, I grew up on hot oatmeal! I didn't have to wait until I was an old fart to enjoy it's warm, sweet, gooie goodness.
I like peaches and cream the best!

I love oatmeal. I will have it as a snack at night. I get excited when it is included in a breakfast buffet.

I think oatmeal has a bad reputation because tons of cafeterias at schools/jobs serve shitty oatmeal. Shitty oatmeal is like eating a bowl of snot. But good oatmeal is so, so good. Especially with a bit of maple syrup mixed in...

Nope, not at all. It's a really nice work/storage space.

That's a relief. It is nice of you to call my "space to put junk that should have thrown out years ago" - "storage space" -

I remember my grandfather fixing oatmeal for me - yep, nice and thick, then he added cut up dates, wheat germ, malted milk and real unpasteurized cream from our guernsey cow -

You have not seen his garage. Four cubic inches is "storage space" to Ultra.
