16x6? Maybe it should work for winter tires of 185/195 width .. but for summer tires, usually of wider sizing imho they are too narrow. 6" by what vendors suggest is usually for 175 min, 185-195 best, 205 max. Shouldn't sidewalls of common sized summer tires flex too much on these wheels? Something completely opposite to stiffening with slight stretch.

Apparently you have not seen these. 16 lb 300 rated 175/50R16 ultra high performance summer tires. If I could find a super lightweight wheel to mount them on I would in a heartbeat.

I see no reason they would not fit, but their are very few to no wheels in that size available.

Well, the 16 pound part is nice...everything else about those would be terrible.

They'd be for a winter setup.

I have a set of 16x7 , 5x100 Volk TE-37's , in bronze for sale (with original bronze center caps, and blue valve stems). Nice condition overall, I'll post up pictures/price in the classified section this weekend. It slipped my mind to post them here, as I've had them on CL. 11.2 pounds each. I'd use them, but the color clashes with my FR-S ….

Well, I finally did it.

Silver Enkei RPF1 - 16X7 et35mm
BF Goodrich g-Force Comp 2 A/S - 225/50-16

Some thoughts:
1. I am actually not a big fan of the RPF1. But they are relatively inexpensive, easy/fast to get (through Tire Rack), and still part of Enkei's "Racing" line. I was kind of forced into buying these, now, because I ran over something on the freeway that cracked my OEM rim and popped the tire. This is my DD so I needed something fast. I have always planned to go 16" so rather than buying a new OEM wheel and a new 17" tire, I figured I might as well start down the 16" path. Another good thing is now I can buy tires at Costco because it is now a "proven fit".

2. My car is not lowered (yet). No fender rolling, shaving, pulling. No camber added. It's all stock on everything except the tires. There is no rubbing at full lock anywhere. I was nervous about the 35mm offset but it appears to be no problem. The rears look perfect with 35mm. The fronts would look better with 40~42mm.

3. I originally planned to get Summer performance tires such as the Bridgestone RE760 but I got scared off by all the manufacturers and Tire Rack saying not to use Summer tires if temperatures in your area are "near freezing". It will get down to the high 20s here in Valencia, CA. The issue is, I believe they call it "cold checking" where cracks can develop in the tread in the grooves. Need to research that further.

4. Need to research it because All Season tires look like mudder tires and look weird...

5. I don't see how others are getting wheels with offsets lower than 35mm to fit.

6. I like how the "minus 1", 16" looks. And every time I look at it, I like it a little bit more. Reminds me of the cars of my youth (1970s) especially my 1979 Celica. It's very "Old Schoolish".

7. I also like the ride. Expansion joints seem a little more damped. I won't know for sure until I can drive comfortably after break-in.

8. I need to figure out how to post pictures.

9. Now I have time to look for wheels I actually want and not be worried if they will fit. One "unicorn" wheel for me is the BBS RS269, a 3-piece forged wheel.

10. Oh, and lastly, I find it very annoying that Subaru uses 5X100 bolt pattern wheels. This bolt pattern seems to weaken wheels since manufacturers downgrade wheel ratings for 5X100 from the same wheel with 5X114.3 PCD. Plus, it's harder to find 5X100 in the wheels I like (such as the aforementioned BBS RS 3-piecer)...

Nice all-rounder combo. Get a slightly more aggressive alignment, and you'll really enjoy the more dynamic driving experience. I'm convinced this is the correct wheel/tire combo for stock suspension.
