Sounds like the Injen intake itself, which is poorly designed in my opinion. The open faced design sucks in hot air that rises up off the headers and gets trapped under the hood when idling and driving at low speeds. There is no protection against filter heat soak on the front side and the other sides are poorly sealed. Do a search and you'll find lots of posts from people with bogging and sluggish response from the Injen intake even without a tune. I'd get a either a true CAI or a SRI that completely shields the air filter from radiant engine bay heat like the AFE Takeda.

You may not have noticed it that much in the winter months but as the ambient temps get warmer, the heat soak effect will likely be more pronounced.

Sell it on eBay like I did with my Airaid intake and then get a true CAI, or just plug the resonators and noise gen hole in the stock intake and get a nice drop-in. Think of it this way, if you can fetch at least $200 for the Injen you're only out $70 for a true CAI (Vigilant @ $270) or you could spend around $50 for a drop-in + plugs for the stock intake. Either way you'll be happy you ditched the Injen.

I really think you should at least try swapping back to stock and see if you notice a difference in throttle response and top end power, especially after idling and creeping around in traffic. I almost didn't want to believe it, but when I swapped back to stock after running the Airaid for a while, the low end throttle response felt better in those instances where I was taking off from a long stop light when it was hot out and the engine bay was hot too. Top end power felt about the same with a bit less noise in high rpms.

Anyways, sorry for the off topic chat, Jack! Back on topic!

Injen seems to be a hit or miss. Make sure everything is installed correctly. A lot of people seem to have bogging issues but mine was fine. I remember someone reviewed it and had the same problem and his vendor sent him a new one and it fixed everything.

I had re-installed it twice. I took ATL BRZ's advice and put stock back on. Car is peppy again. I'll probably sit on it and then sell it.

My Injen seems to be ok - none of those issues.

I seem to have settled on the 92 octane, Fuel + Timing - for my car running on CA 91 octane.

I'm racing the car at an autocross tomorrow to see how the map feels there.

So I was just doing a hex compare, using Beyond Compare software, on some of the maps and I found that a lot of maps in the same category are the same data wise.

for example in the 92 octane Fuel Standard Timing Out folder; the Stock, All Drop-in Filters, and All CatB maps are the same.

Jack - could you give some light on what's different between the stock maps and the All Drop-in / All CatB maps?
