What type/grade of gas do you use at Shell gas station?? I had my HPFP replaced and the damn crickets came back after 300-400miles. I've been using normal unleaded 87 grade at the Circle K next to my house. Willing to try Shell gas to see if it fixes the cricket/chirping issue before going back to the dealership.

Why would you put 87 into a car that wants premium gas?

I'm about 500 miles since the repair. I guess I'll hear'em again soon enough.

Didn't know it required premium gas. Never looked in the manual to see what type to use? I don't have any gas stations that sell 0% ethanol gas near me either. I'll start using premium gas now. What type do you use??

I'm pretty sure it says it on the back of the fuel filler door...

You're supposed to be using 91 octane or higher unleaded gasoline.

Try 93 and see if that helps because 87 isn't doing it any good lol.

It definitely didn't help your car.

As far as if it actually did any damage...no clue but I doubt it.

No, the dealership didn't mention using 91 octane or higher
But thanks for the input GUYS :happy0180: Yeah i'm glad i realized now I was using the wrong gas. I only have 1300miles on my car so hope no damage was done. I still have to go back to get my HPFP replaced again. I wonder if using cheap gas affected the New pump??

I would be bum-rushing the dealership for not mentioning it, and not leaving until I felt they made it right (and then never go to that dealership again). That could cause warranty issues, since its called for on the car and in the manual. Pays to read the manual and look at the stickers! Truth be told, your car will probably be fine, be glad that our cars are forgiving!

I'm sorry, it's not the dealership's responsibility to tell you how to properly operate the vehicle. That's why there's a manual and idiot stickers all over it.
