Thanks to Ottawa salt

I now can say I have gone from a raven to a whiteout. 2 cars in one. Awesome. My son and I had fun testing out the different degrees of traction control yesterday in the snow. He liked traction control" off" the best.

Pbrown, do you have your winters on already?

I went to get mine put on this past Saturday, and the guy forgot to order the necessary lugnuts. I've been driving around on my stocks for the past two days, and let me tell ya, being a MT newbie on stocks in fresh snow is pretty intimidating.

Haha, good stuff Paul for a second I thought you actually changed cars.

I got my winters put on last week, running the OEM wheels for winter with stock size Michelin Alpins I scored for $200.
Lotsa fun driving! I agree, TC off! Gonna be a great winter.

I feel for you OZ. Must have been pretty interesting. Yes mine are on and I must say that the car behaves well. The traction control in both modes (full or sport) really helps keep the car from spinning too much on starts and are great while driving. Hope you get them on by the weekend.

Hey all,

Just had my winters put on. After about 30km, TPMS light came on. Im guessing that has something to do with the summer tires having pressure sensors and my winters not having them. Right? Have any of you put sensors in your winters?

Ps i wish the tpms light looked different. To me a lighted up excalamation point means brake problems. Nearly had a heart attack i tell ya...

Yeah I was super impressed with how everything handled on Monday!
today i found some streets with some snow left and had a touch of fun

Oz, yeah thats normal. mine comes on and off but normally takes about 30-40km before coming on. my stock wheels with the TPMS are right in front of the car when its parked in the garage so it might get a little confused sometimes.

Holy Hibernation

Well it appears we have all gone to sleep. Finally saw one of the twins this morning, white BRZ on Hunt Club near conroy. Was it anyone on this forum? Pleasantly surprised at the handling of the car today. Traction control works very well.

Can anyone recommend me a place to buy and install my winter tires?

I got a quote from the dealership and they are saying 1650 with tires and wheels package. After taxes and installation etc.

Is this good?

They say that buying tires as well will save me on installation cost over the next 4 years and will more than make up for it.

Any advice whatsoever will be appreciated. Complete newb I've been reading up online a lot and coming up with mix opinions. I figured that the Ottawa section will best know what I need to do

Thanks again guys!

i did all my business through tire bay on merivale. they ordered everything i needed really quickly and made time around my schedule for the install. There was some confusion about the lugnuts needed, and that added a couple of days, but overall, I was really happy with all their work and their price was fair.

I spent around 1300 for alloy wheels, goodyear ultragrips and install. But I bought the tires in september, when they were about 15% cheaper.

But the guy at tire bay (ahmad) is a good guy. honest and has no problem telling you if you're not getting the right things.

I went to Frisbee on Clyde and used OEM wheels and had Hankook I Pikes installed taxes in for $965. Get all my cars done there over the years with 0 issues.

Thanks for the post man! These guys are on top of my list now. I feel a lot safer following the opinion you guys give me.

Will I have issues getting an installation spot at Frisbee? The tony grayham dealership said they'd need to keep my car overnight. And that's proving to be a serious issue for me!

So would you recommend I get the wheels as well?
