I ran into Denlin yesterday before the meet. Was nice meeting you. While doing some shopping in Briar Creek I parked next to Denlin's red BRZ and a white one I found out works at the T-mobile there. I gave him the info on the 86 meets and my number. The three of us made for a very patriotic red, white, and blue. I didn't catch the white in a photo but I think Denlin may have.

I was able to get to some changes I have been on the edge about for a while now. I used some plasti dip to check out what I thought of going gold on the wheels for that classic Subie look. I found that the metalizer I had is not the best tool for the job. There just isn't enough flake in the clear gloss to get good coverage. I kinda gave up and gave it two heavy coats and then left what remained of the base coat showing through. I give the execution maybe a 2 but it was enough for me to tell that I liked the change. I'll do something better while I burn off the stock tires and then look for some gold aftermarket wheels.

I think the end result is a look that is not as "high-end" not quite as sophisticated, and maybe even a little less impressive but is more ostentatious, more playful, and more fun. Feel free to knock some sense into me if I get too ricey.

I don't think I'll be able to make any meets until after the new year but may check out Cars and Coffee next Saturday if it is still on. Have a happy holidays all.

Hey Guys,

As we continue to grow our local group, I would like to come up with a group sticker that we can roll out as we transition into 2015. We have lots of talented members in the group, so I would like start a logo contest within our local member group! If you'd like to take part in designing a logo, here's how you can participate:

- Message me with your design idea for a logo
- Please try to include some variation of an 86 logo, and something symbolic of NC
- Size is not constrained but try to keep it sized small enough to fit on the rear quarter glass windows.
- Single color preferred

Please submit your logo designs by 12/24/14.

Once I have received all submissions, I will put them all together and we will take a vote on which designs we like best. The top 3 with the most votes will get reviewed by out local sticker maker, and if they are all feasible to print, we will have a final vote for best sticker!

I look forward to seeing what you guys come up with!

Wish I was more artistically inclined but these are a few of the images I thought would be nice to incorporate.

opposed pistons

or the outline sketch

Something similar is used by the NorCal group I think but it was first in a Japanese brochure so it wouldn't be ripped off from the california group.

I know I've said I was going to make it out for the last two but never made it out there.

But... looks like I really can make it out there this time. See you guys tomorrow, with or without the wife.

I tried my hand at some wrapping of interior panels. I used some brushed black aluminum vinyl. I think it turned out pretty good! Now just to clean the rest of my interior lol.

Anybody else sporting some interior vinyl patterns?

Those look nice Jordan. I am hoping I can make it out to CF tonight, going to try to run home at lunch and get the dog sorted so I can stop by at least to the Meet tonight. Hope to see everyone there!

Looks really good, I like the dark brushed look.

By the way is anyone else planning on going to Cars and Coffee Saturday. Initially it was looking like rain and in the 30's but it seems the chance for rain has disappeared and they are forecasting a high of 48.

I was thinking of swinging by the BP gas station on Glenwood just west of the Raleigh Grande at 8 if anyone wanted to meet there and drive in together to park. Does parking get crowded that early anyway? Wouldn't mind a little later start :-p

PS: Have fun tonight
