Any vintage watch experts out there? Buddy found a whole box of watches in the attic of a house. We found most online and they ranged in time (no pun intended) from 1906 to about 1972. They were all in repair envelopes with the latest dated 1977. Unfortunately he screwed up and separated them all from the envelopes without tracking what came from where so any info there may have been is now mixed up.

We can't find a single reference on this one. Ugly as hell but interesting at the same time.

I am not a watch expert, but that one definitely turns counter-clockwise which would make it somewhat unique. There's some history of doing this intentionally, but there's no common theme I could discern to help. After some searching, it appears that Orion is a brand name that has been used by at least 3 different companies, one Swiss, one Russian, and one American, but I cannot find any actual history of the companies online in English at least. The American one is super recent, like 2019. The Russian company seemed to be talked about in forums around 2010 and used Cyrillic lettering. It does look similar to other Orion offerings in the 70s as far as I could find. You might be able to find the model number if you pop the back end off.

Most definitely Swiss, it says it on the back. Not possible to be later than 1977 and probably earlier since all of them had been in for repairs but for some reason never returned to the customer. Some of the repair prices were great! Like "New spring installed $16.50". There are over 50 of them and probably 60 or so high end bands still in the original packages. We found many of them online but even after we spent an hour on that one we found nothing else even close in appearance.
Oh and the weird shape to the bezel isn't an angle of the photo or trick of perspective it actually is made that shape.

The fact that Buick is top spot makes me highly suspicious of this poll.

Why? Who buys Buick? What chance that they're going to be disappointed? I think this says more about who buys what (and whether the car meets their expectations) than about actual hardware. But I'd have to see the questions used to arrive at this result to be sure.

Well, it is a sales satisfaction survey. Maybe the customer went in, the Buick wasn't available, and that satisfied them.

The interesting bit is the range of variation is only a 7.1% range of difference. 75.4% for the lowest score and 82.5% for the highest.

I will say getting a ~25% discount on my last Buick vehicle purchase because they couldn't sell them was pretty satisfying. But that's GM in general.

I think this chart says more about availability and dealer satisfaction then it does the manufacturer.

This is what I could find, directly from J.D Power.

I refuse to believe that modern Nissan is above "segment average" in any category.

Might be a nurse's watch of some sort, but they're usually just upside down.
It's generally pinned on so they can lift it to read it.
Saves a wristwatch from getting sticky while changing bedsheets & etc.

The 5 sec intervals may have something to do with taking pulses, or not.
I'm snowed in right now, so I didn't stay a Howard Johnsons last night for any boost.
Backwards ... no clue.
