In the days leading up to launch, and even for a couple of years afterwards, when I checked the forum at my normal times (first thing in the morning, lunchtime, then once or twice in the evening) I'd have 5 or more pages of new post listings to meander through, and then a page or two of posts in each thread.

For the past six months or so it has slowed down to a page or two of listings at the busiest, and I've dropped back to only checking once or twice a day most days.

Well what I have seen is the rapid decline of the social aspect of the forum. Where there used to be a huge group that would just come to shoot the shit and hang out we now only have a small handful of survivors. With a few exceptions most new comers now seem to come and ask a question and then disappear. Often without any other interaction including a "thanks guys".

What are everyone's plans for the holidays? I got a few extra days off this year so I'm off from the 21st to the 2nd.

I'm not travelling anywhere but I have a few family events to attend. I found out my mom is making a 25 lb prime rib for Christmas day

Ooooo... My wife asked me to choose between ham and prime rib. Maybe there's still time for me to switch. I do love some good au jus and horseradish.

Not much. I have a poker party to go to on Saturday night. Christmas dinner at my younger brother's. I only have the 24th and 25th, then 31st and 1st off, so two 4 day weekends. I was thinking of doing a rib roast on Christmas Eve myself.
