Speaking of information security; one of the analysts has made a game of loading different types of ransomware into a sandbox to see which one wins. We're thinking about starting a bracket.

but that's where it went bad. I said the dumb broad(she really is about as sharp as a rubber ball) could order it since she is the pseudo purchaser now and not just AP like she should be. he forwarded the email to her since it had the link for what he wanted at the bottom.

Our corporate max is 2%. Can be the best guy in the company and that is all you will get.

3% raises?


The good stuff on my feedback was ignored for feedback from people that had an opposing view on exactly the same subject... In fairness, I happen to think both were right, within context. But it's never just my problem when it comes to mentoring, and that's where the problem lay. Never mind it's the first negative feedback I've ever received on the subject.


Anyhow, they're doing everything possible to push me out.


I struggle with communication, because people baffle me. And that's not on the list of critical skills... it's supplementary (and there are examples of people far worse than me that haven't been held back). Otherwise I usually put most of my peers to shame on how much I can get done... and pick up new topics quickly too. I'm just not the 'good little developer' they wish I were, because I don't quietly churn through tasks wherever they put me. Especially if it's not a language I'm particularly fluent with (oh, you're a programmer, here's a PASCAL project to get done by tomorrow, thanks!) And I'm not really a programmer, I just have skills because it's a useful tool.



Meanwhile, they've also successfully destroyed my spirit, and I can't find the energy to update my resume or job hunt. Like I don't deserve better than I have. Plus the commute is killer (train station connects to the 2nd floor of the building I work in...)


It's just a job. There's no such thing as a career any more.


Oh. And I'm lucky to see 1.25%, which isn't even covering my property tax increases.


I think it's time for me to go... if only I thought anyone would hire me.


FWIW, there are actually teams that would love to have me, but that's stupidly difficult to arrange. So it's just management in the particular business segment.
