Kumho KU36 245/45/17

My latest acquisition..
Kumho KU36 Ecsta 235/45/17.. these will be my DRY track tyres.
Decided it was less hassle to just use the Enkei's as my 'drys' and keep the Michelin Pilot Sport 3's on the WedsSports as my 'wets'.

Brought these into my work so I could rice them up with my oil based tyre paint pen. #becauseracecar #tracklook #dailydriven #trackedhard

Here is a pic.. taken using a potatoe. I'll get some better pics later up tonight.

EDIT: more pics with a better phone, still have to mount them.

EDIT2: Went for a drive to try out the tyres(Kumho Ecsta XS KU36). Oh boy, the grip on that isn't as good as the PS3's. Was taking a 60deg roundabout at about 80% the pace as I would when my car is shod with PS3's... almost lost the back end. I suppose it better be fair to give these tyres a week to settle in, and drive them in warm weather(not at 3:30am on a cool early summers morning)
Took some pics too:

My late week acquisition..

A boot within a boot...
#bootception

Also, I got rid of that 'base tune' from FA20Crap and now my car is running at 100% totally stock parameters. Car sounds alot louder from 3.6k rpm though, feels a bit more power imho. Will be quering one of the local tuners to see if I can get my car tuned *properly* on a dyno though, not sure if I should wait for my HKS Intake to arrive. Not saying I know for a fact that it does/doesn't make more power, but it certainly feels like it to me.

Got an email from Jesse Streeter saying that the INGs+ fenders are at his locale and he will be sending them to me today, so hopefully will get the fenders towards end of next week early next week.
Same with the JapanParts order(HKS Intake, TRD Sport Steering wheel), email notification earlier this week. Hope it arrives around the same time.
HKS Oil Cooler ordered and paid for via Jesse too. Guessing that will be sent within a fortnights time.

Will be getting the bootlid, INGs+ fenders and Abflug spoiler painted all at once. Then strip off the front bumper/fenders to install the HKS Intake and HKS Oil Cooler, then FINALLY a dyno tune.

Got bored tonight.. and since I'm working overnight I thought I'd help some newbz..
Can be found on my FB Page for my car.

Product Source for my build.

That reminds me. I'm gonna see if I can get those TRD stickers on the side's resized to about 60% smaller, and then put the shortcut to my build thread underneath it.. a-la TRD Griffon hurr hurr

Cannot wait to see those fenders installed. Surprised how easy the instructions make finder replacements look.

TRD Wheel Installed

I installed my TRD Sports Steering Wheel last night, but unfortunately my Samsung GS2 ran out of battery so I couldn't take progress pictures of the install. These will have to do
You can also see my P3Cars vent to the right hand side of the first picture.

The steering wheel diameter is slightly smaller than the OEM wheel. I'd say about 8-9mm smaller either side. The best part about it imho is the singular red tab at 12 o'clock position and the fact its nice and chunky, and the wheel itself is uniform. Perfect for track day use.

I reckon it ranks up there as one of the FIRST "TO DO" mods. ie. VooDoo Gear knob, RexSpeed Mirrors, P3Cars digital vent. You'd wonder how you ever drove without that mod..

Paint finished!!

Picked up my fenders and other stuff from TANDMCUSTOMS in Kenwick today.
Highly recommended. Neil is very reasonable with pricing, however his turnaround time for work is VERY QUICK.

I got my INGs+ fenders, my Abflug Spiral 86 bootlid spoiler(satin black) and my second boot all painted. My car will be sexier than ever
As always, here are some pics. Mind the lighting, today was overcast and it was taken indoors.

Late Saturday Night Modding

It has begun..

Updated. Progress pics.

Here's a little tip. There is a metal bracket that I believe is actually designed to lever the brass clip to be pushed forwards so the side markers can be removed easily. Stick a small flathead screwdriver in like so and lever it away from you to depress the brass tab while gently pulling the side marker outwards.

This is the 'back end' of the front Toyota badge. I am contemplating attacking the oval area with a drill/dremel/bastard file to allow a nice duct for the HKS intake to get air from.

STOCK Cold Air Feed

NO cold air feed

HKS Cold Air Feed

Weather Strip - Tip, there is a bit of rust developing between the gasket/front bumper. Would be a good idea to clean this periodically.

Some pictures of the HKS Cold Air Intake
As you can see, the HKS fits perfectly within the plastics of the OEM bumer. Gotta love JDM Kwalitee gear!!

Front of the HKS Cold Air Intake

HKS Box looking from above, notice there is no foam adhesive/gasket type interface between it and the stock/TRD Air Box

Foam adhesive/gasket type material is applied to the HKS Cold Air Intake now
