I looked at the cQ Quartz website...Damn. I use Zaino and love it, but if they do the work that the website promotes for the product then shit. I may be going up there. I want pics, thoughts, honest opinion here!

Well I can give you my first thoughts and impressions of Elijah (owner/detailer) at Diamond Detail.

When I brought my car in he took a look at it out in the sun and discussed with me any defects/corrections he would need to do. Fortunately since the car is only 3 weeks old there were no defects that needed correction but did discover 2 VERY small dings in the doors.

He also took some time to show me how he cleans cars and made some recommendations for products to maintain the coating.

He also provided a ride to my hotel which was near by.

Over all he is very personable and knowledgable.

On another note, the GM of the local Subaru dealership brings his personal cars to Diamond Detail for detailing and care.

I like the white. My wife's Sonata is pearl white and the Zaino just makes the flakes pop. I have the ultra marine and lite scratches show real easy. The clear coat on this car sucks.

Sounds good so far. You're going to blind people driving home. Don't go through Roswell. Their may be a "sighting".

Detailer finally called and said I am going to be very happy, but he wants to deliver it tomorrow so that he can do some extra stuff to it to help protect it from bugs on the way home. As well as provide me with some waterless wash to carry with me to clean the bugs off.

@AzFranz It was good meeting you for coffee and getting to hear your exhaust. Hopefully we can do it again and get some other twins drivers to show up.

@JHSurf Yeah man! It was good. The detail looks awesome.

Any given day, night, weekend in Arizona we could have 5 to 20 cars show up and just hang out.

Here is so much different so hopefully we can try and get some others to join in for some meets or some drives.

Thanks for the coffee and donut. Speaking of, I need to look up a cars and coffee event in this area. The one at Gainey Village in Scottsdale is amazing.

Ok time for my review of Diamond Detail in Albuquerque...

Elijah Pohl is the owner and detailer. He runs the place by himself so it is a personal touch and not high traffic assembly line.

When I initially scheduled my appointment and talked to him about his services (Opticoat and cQuartz) he was very straight forward. When he called back a few days to confirm I mentioned I wanted to get the roof vinyl wrapped. He said he could do that for me as well.

Originally I was to drop the car off Thursday afternoon and he would return it to me Friday evening. But with the wrap, he needed a bit more time so I did not get the car back until Saturday about noon.

I really liked that he took the extra time to do things well and did not rush anything. I am very happy how the coating and wrap turned out. I did not have the fin antenna wrapped, but he gave me material to wrap it if I didn't like how it looked. He also provided me with samples of products he recommends using to maintain the coating. He also spent time discussing exactly what I needed to maintain the coating.

Would I take my vehicle back to Diamond Detail, yes I would.
Would I recommend Diamond Detail to a friend/family, yes I would.

Here are a couple of pics to show how glassy the cQuartz looks.

I can attest to the fact it looks real good...much better in person.

We met in Las Cruces just before sunset and the reflection was perfect.

Probably good for 1 mpg!
