Saturday morning I was in my family car and leaving the Texaco at 45/1826 (about 10 minutes from the Salt Lick) in SW Austin when I had my first FRS sighting since getting my own. It was a Raven FRS with temporary plates about to drive into the automated car wash there. My concern is that I know some people who've had their car damaged at that car wash this past year. Don't know why you would want to drive your brand new car through one of those things...hope your car came out in one peace!!!

Congrats!!! Got mine about a week before you and drove home from So. Carolina! The only way to do the 1000 mile break in IMHO. RE: Opti-coater: I heard about Concours Auto Salon from a post on the San Antonio thread.....FYI

$350 sounds like a good deal and might be worth the drive down this way if you can't find anyone in Austin priced about the same. Enjoy that new BRZ!!!

I saw a new Firestorm FR-S at Nordstroms parking lot on Labor Day in the early evening that still had paper plates. My second sighting of an FR-S in the same week! I've yet to see a BRZ on the road though...

HAHAHA LMAO!! That was totally ME! went up to austin for the wifes bday last weekend, and on the way home stopped by salt lick. I had parked my car under a tree at our hotel the night before and a bunch of petals and gunk had covered it in the morning. So first chance I saw a touchless laser wash I pulled in.
It came out in 1 piece, got the cheapest wash they had, just wanted to get the gunk and petals off.

Glad you made it out in one piece. My neighborhood forum warns people to avoid that particular car wash.

Welcome to Austin!

I haven't met any other ft86club people yet, but I think a couple have gone to the Cobb "first thursday" events.

Honestly, after the last two rounds of TX plates (not the latest) I think the yellow/black NJ plates are pretty nice. But I'm glad TX finally went back to a more low-key simple plate.
