Hello all! I'd never even heard of the GT86, BRZ or FR-S until about six months ago. That's when I saw the episode of Top Gear where they reviewed it (the GT86). If Clarkson doesn't badmouth it, it MUST be a decent car, I thought. Found out the American version is the FR-S. I could not get over what a beautiful shape the car is! It has curves and corners in all the right places. So, when the time was right, I went to the dealer and jumped in head first and bought the FR-S... my test drive was the trip home after having signed the paperwork! THEN I got on the internet and found this website and others, and did my homework.
So yep, I did the entire process completely backwards: I bought it, test drove it, then did my research on it. And you know what? I nailed it! I'm one slap-happy pappy. I LOVE this car! It drives like nothing I've ever driven, is beautiful to behold, and gets awesome gas mileage to boot. It is the car I would have decided on had I spent months analyzing and researching the entire market. And the icing on the cake is, I ended up (basically without realizing it) getting the 10 Series (#704) so it has all the extra goodies. I'm looking forward to getting to know other owners in the southeast. I'm in Northeast Georgia, plenty of great curvy mountain roads that this little car just breezes through! |

Thanks, Humfrz! I certainly will. Looks like this forum may well be the best accessory one could have.

No point in getting the Greddy Evo if you're getting the Manzo version, it's the exact same exhaust system, only diff is the name etched on the tips the print on the outside of the box, and the stickers in the box from all the research I did(hrs) they are identical in looks right down to the welds and sound. With CAI's, some of the "no names" are made in the same factory with the same tooling/machinery as the AEM's they just don't have that AEM badge or sticker mounted on them so they are half as much. Just my .02 cents for what it's worth.

OP Delivers~
Happy Easter every one!
I finally got it (3 days ago)! 2014 FR-S Automatic Raven "Bruce" Northern NJ *Better pics to come soon! It hasn't hit me yet that I actually own this sexy thing. Already getting compliments by the public: I was going to bring my mom to the store so she can go shopping and also get a ride in Bruce. So we arrived at the store, and I parked in a nice little spot. I was getting out the car when two guys passed by and started to whistle in our direction. I paid them no mind, but as I got out the car and looked at my mom, she was laughing hysterically. I asked her what was so funny and she responded, "They weren't whistling at you. They were whistling at the car." Yes they were whistling at my cars ass. Some projects I want to get started in the near future with Bruce: Emblem change Add Lip Kit Rear-view mirror (Broadway) Black out headlight After this, I am not sure what to do with this masterpiece of a car. All I know is that it will be an adventure! |
