For what it's worth, the bottle does say overuse will not harm/damage the fuel/fuel components in any way. Or something close to that. Try using more maybe? (Or Nyquil to put them to sleep).

Disclaimer: Don't really put Nyquil in your gas tank.

How about Vodka? That's what the Lada runs on and it is perfectly fine.

Well right - I thought that went without saying.

But in all seriousness, and since the TSB doesn't seem to be solving the problem, I'm going to keep pouring things into my fuel tank in hopes to find a reasonable solution, then report back here.

Somewhere in this thread there is a suggestion to exclusively use 93 octane Chevron gas. I'm on tank #7 and can confirm (at least on Texas 'winter' formulation) that I no longer have crickets. I am at 24k miles. Previously I was using QT and Exxon randomly.

Further, I am now supercharged (Edelbrock 1556) for the past two tanks, and continue to not have crickets.

Aussie dude here, so nto sure if relevant. I've got 60,000kms (because ya know the whole world is in metric now :P) and only get it when I use additives like injector cleaner or octane booster. Chirps a bit on E10, but significantly lower sound intensity.

In fact, on that page (254) SpectreRT and FR-S Matt were discussing foam insulation the dealership is now trying out after the replacement failure, which is a funny work-around IMO. I'd be interested to know if the 2017 GT86s are having this issue.

On a side note, my crickets have completely hibernated without any additives in the cold winter season.

I don't think many people reported "miss" on the latest one. Only a few of us reported of getting it done and I think majority of us so far say no crickets and a bunch of people discussing about it.

Fair enough. This issue is still an issue which warrants the discussion. I came in initially constructively trying to help others find resolution with the new, or first edition HPFP, with things I've tried out. If it doesn't relate to you - why worry? Besides, the glaring poll at the beginning of this thread suggests otherwise.

(Maybe you're just trolling me)

Well I was one of the people in that thread that posted that the latest fuel pump has worked so far. So I'm not sure why it wouldn't relate to a solution for others. The latest TSB came out 2 months ago.

Perhaps it's my mistake - so is this a 3rd TSB for the HPFP, or another revised fuel pump (rhetorical)? It just sounds like the first TSB for it fell on it's face.

Anyways, this is a really old topic; therefore, I'm putting my 2 cents to rest and moving on to other topics. I'm glad the new TSB works for everyone...

I'm at 2433 miles and have crickets. The chirping is louder than the sound tube. I've had them since at least the last 500 miles. I'm not completely sure how long they were there before I noticed them. But they don't chirp at idle or low load, only under moderate to heavy loads after 15 minutes of warm up.

The chirp should actually go away on load...you may have a different problem.
