This is very true. I once worked with a guy that had to get rid of his custom plate because somebody took a picture of his car parked in front of a strip club and posted it on FB.

Haha ouch.

And that my friends, is why you either never get a vanity plate, or never go to a strip club! (take your pick)

Not sure if you were the same car but I saw it coming out of the Bayview ramp, I was in an old RX300 cuz my gf bitches about how I never turn on the AC when driving the BRZ citing the ~15hp parasite loss.

Preach! My BRZ felt like a goddamn Daewoo with the A/C on yesterday because of the power loss.

I usually try to get away without using my A/C, but I was in dress clothes driving home from work around 5pm last night in the dead of that heat wave, and I was almost literally melting, so I caved.

A side note; the A/C compressor cycles so often when you're sitting still that it could drive a person insane.

The power loss + loud exhaust = no A/C as much as possible

Thieves? What do thieves and license plates have to do with each other?

When I drove a 2.0T once the weather hits 30 the car would run sluggish regardless so I always ran the AC with that car (and that all German cars have open system crappy AC that takes forever to cool so gotta commit when turning the key). Maybe I should have invested on a FMIC.

BRZ feels like driving a non-vtec Civic so I need all the help I can get lol!

If you post your "built thread" and flash your locations / whereabouts, folks can stalk and steal your car knowing value and location. More and more often car thieves have a decent dossier on the car they are targeting. It's unlikely it will be a smash and grab job nowadays.

I have AC on blast, oil cooler and supercharger. Power still comes nice but I hear you, my wrx feels sluggish with the 35 weather last weekend.

With all due respect, that's the most absurd thing ever.

They can get all the same information from the same photo even if the license plate was censored. They'll just identify the car as "that ___ BRZ/FRS"
They won't know where you're going to be just because of a photo you took a week ago in that specific plaza, unless of course it's photos in the same plaza all the time, then I guess they'll know you're there all the time.

Then again, I'm not a car thief so maybe I don't know how that shit works.

I still don't see a correlation to a licence plate posted Ina picture and thieves.
You can't cover you're plate while driving.
