Thanks Tom. I picked up the Flex Z set last week. 86 speed was having an 8/6 sale with 86 bucks off on a set of Flex Zs. Haven't installed them yet, the car is mid turbo kit install right now.

I've had these for about a year but I'm still having trouble finding the perfect comfort setting for them. Setting them softer (10 or 11s) feels decent on these crappy LA freeways, but they feel like bottom out going over low speed speed bumps or surprise potholes. Setting them stiffer (8-9) stops this to an extent, but feels pretty jarring on the freeway. Im currently about 3/4ths of an inch lower on stock tires running about 32psi all around just to make the ride more comfortable.

What softer sidewall tires do you guys recommend? I've seen Extremecontact DW and PSS being thrown out pretty often.

Why you went coilovers first place?

That's odd. I have mine beyond maxed out in the front in terms of lowering (removed the locking rings) and had to adjust the pre-load in the rear to match the height. I have the dampening set to the middle, and imo, it rides almost the same as stock, except for going in really low speeds over bumps. Also, I have my tires set to 40 psi.

Shoot, it rides more comfortably than my Yaris that sits on Tein S.Tech springs on OEM dampers.

How Low Are You?
I am at the lowest in the rear; the front can go another 1/3" or so. I forgot to measure the before to compare.

Hi all. I just got around to installing these on my BRZ. I have the rears maxed (I think), but there’s still like an inch and a half of thread left on them. I can’t imagine they’re all the way to the bottom of the lower mount. They’re advertised as a 3” drop max in the rear. I’m nowhere near that and had zero issues with the front hitting my desired height. I still have like a 1” wheel gap in the rear. Any ideas what’s going on?

You'll need to adjust the pre-load in the rear now since you've maxed out the shock length. That's what I had to do.

Preload is an independent adjustment on these coilovers. I’m just very surprised that I already maxed out the shock. I suppose I could try to go absolutely minimal with the preload, which will slightly increase droop, and drop the height a bit, but I can’t imagine there is any “normal” way to get the advertised 3” drop in the rear.

I think the advertises included preload.

I believe the recommended drop is with recommended preload. Going into the maximum range, you'll have to lower the preload (essentially shortening the shock travel)

Thanks guys. So basically just try to minimize preload? Should I just snug it so the spring doesn’t move around?

That should be okay. I don't recommend unloading the spring more than necessary. If you do, just be extra cautious when you approach moderate bumps.

It happened to me accidentally on my Tein Flex A's, and I started bottoming out way more than normal. Luckily I checked and fixed the preload quickly. See here
