Guess my hopes were a little high that the price would be a little lower, as no turbo header/collector is included. Probably one of the more expensive kits once you include the fueling and tuning costs.

The turbo location alone has me discount most of the other kits though. Do you have any further details about the oil scavenging system?

You bring up an excellent question/concern.

Truth be told, we could have made a basic front mount turbo header for the price that it costs us to build our SS 2-piece V-band Turbo Overpipe and complete recirculated WG set-up.

Here are a couple of other things to keep in mind:

Our Garrett GT3076R turbo with SS Tial V-Band Housing is about $450 more than a regular GT2871R turbo and is roughly $1,050 more than a regular Garrett 57 or 60 trim journal bearing turbo. This answers the question of why some kits can be sold for such a low price. Now, we actually think this is good as it gives the FT86 community such a nice price range of FI kits to choose from. It just needs to be noted that there is always a reason why one FI set-up is more expensive than another.

In addition to turbo pricing, There are other things that one should consider. Due to the location of our turbocharger, will only need to run a 3" cat-back exhaust to have a true, free-flowing 3" turbo-back exhaust set-up. Unless you find a front mount turbo kit that includes an overpipe and front pipe, you're looking at another $400-$700 for a 2.5"/2.75" overpipe/frontpipe combo.

Our oil scavenging system (we'll provide more details soon) costs us extra money to include too, but it also negates the need to have to swap out oil pans. This saves money in terms of extra parts/labor and also allows you to go back to stock more easily.

We also use Turbosmart V-band BOV's and WG's, which cost more than off brand units or an internal WG set-up.

These are just a few of the many things that make our turbo system more expensive than some other kits out there, but our intention was never to compete with the entry level kits. As with all of the turbo systems that we produce, we can assure you that you're getting what you pay for in terms of the included components, etc.

Really love everything about this kit. Can't wait to see what you guys came up with for your scavenging system. If it were a mechanical pump similar to what AVO is using I'd be all in.

Keep up the good work guys!

Yeah and i mentioned in another thread about yalls turbo kit, hands down (im not trying to dog the other kits out there) is one of the best kits out there,in my opinion the best turbo kit.

The kit was put together methodically, and every item was considered during the build process, including all the stock bits, with reliability in mind.

Yea this kit is premium for a reason, thanks a ton for taking the time to explain the reason for the price point.

having personally owned a ptuning turbo kit for the scion tC i used to have, i can hands down say their turbo kit is premium, top of the line. daily driven 80 miles a day for the 3 years that i owned the kit, i never had an issue. built the engine, ran it up to 27PSI, all i had to upgrade on their kit were the injectors. everything else performed rock solid. good stuff that will last.....pay a premium now, save in the long run.

Unfortunately, all of our prototype turbo system components have been removed from our shop car so. We'll have to wait to get the it all back together before we can do anymore videos or further dyno testing.

We're working on creating production fixtures for all fabricated components and CAD models for all CNC and laser-cut components. The component list is extensive, but we're getting it done. We'll keep everyone updated with the progress on the production components as they're completed.

We'll eventually look into doing the E85 tune as well getting Dynojet numbers too. We also plan on taking our car to the dragstrip to do a 1/4 mile pass in true street driven trim along with a local HPDE event too.

Was this ever posted? And did you guys ever post results of a 91 octane base map?

We have not yet tested the GTX2867R. We'll likely conduct testing with a GTX3071R first. Once we have all the production pieces installed, we plan on developing a base map for both 91 and 93 octane gas for the GT3076R. Eventually we'll also have a base map for the other turbo options that we offer.

We do expect the 91 numbers to be lower, but not significantly so. We'll have to wait and see though.
