3. Subaru of PH does not reject the idea of further increasing the GB list. They want to be the leading BRZ dealership in the LA region.
4. Subaru of PH would like to freeze the price negotiation at the current moment until the official MSRP announcement by SOA. their reason was due to the fact that SOA may impose a price restriction on how much each dealership can sell the car upon initial release. we may restart the price negotiation once the official pricing information confirm in mid March.
5. Subaru PH will start taking deposit on the GB once the official pricing is release so they may start placing their demand order into the SOA system.

I personally don’t think we should penalize Subaru of PH to take on the initiative for capitalizing the BRZ initial sales. I also think we should give credit for Subaru of PH for assuming the risk of taking on initial deposits and engage in price negotiation prior to official pricing information. So far, most of the dealerships around LA are both unwilling to take any deposits, and they are uncooperative at the initiating a price negotiating dialog.

I think we should allow Subaru of PH to reserve the rights to repace the group buy so we may move forward on more solid grounds.

They as a dealership need to both please the SOA corporate as well as the customer. So our going forward negotiation strategies should be rising our unify concerns with SOA and demand a top down change to Subaru of PH.

Also, it is imperative for every member to continue their participation in this group buy, because we united together under a common cause is a very powerful voice that cannot be ignore. Only through joining together we have the power to leverage the negotiation.

do you work for PH Subaru lol jk

Just to play devil's advocate: probably, they'd likely want to sell to the people they can overcharge before allowing an employee to have one at a lower cost.

I guess my e-mail about.. "our group buy got national attention and everyone is waiting to see what move you make" worked out. Which is true. I also mentioned how the community is extremely pissed off at his Corp. Rep. Lol

Still. The "lying fucking scumbag dealer" title is still floating around.

If this turns out to be true, then there is zero value in buying from PH Subaru anyways. If the pricing restriction enforced by Subaru is MSRP, then no way in hell I'm driving all the way to Socal to buy a car that's priced exactly the same as the dealer 5 miles away.

Furthermore, if the way to go is to put in a custom order, it also doesn't matter which dealer you buy from (assuming pricing is equal).

The value of having a GB is to get some pricing advantage, or some extra value. If the GB provides no pricing advantage and no extra value, then participating in a GB is pointless.

Giccin, I suggest you remind PH of this fact.

i agreed for your specific case. however, keep in the consideration of the fact that many dealers around here is going to sell the car up to 2K above MSRP. so perhaps the dealerships around your area is planning to do the same.

now, in my follow up post i suggest we wait until the offal pricing and SOA's internal announcements to the dealership before renegotiation.

by then we can make progress based on the realistic constrain. if SOA does indeed impose a price floor, we can then negotiate for other incentive for this GB.

im sure your e-mail is a strong wakeup call for them. during the call, i mention that our online contact from SOA said the monthly supplied number is 400 cars, not yearly. Nick said he will need to verified this info with his reprehensive.

irregardless, i think we should avoid burning bridges as much as we can. after all, getting a good deal on the GB is more important to our goal of owning a BRZ than winning the argument with them.

they burnt the bridge IMO not the other way around.

If my dealer pulled the same bs I wouldn't consider using them for anything

I am easily swayed right now. :l Lol

I'm just going to wait it out and let PHS see how much this GB meant to the entire BRZ/FRS community. Also how big this deal was considering the list kept getting bigger and bigger.
