Dropped the car off at the dealer, they replace the short block again. The cam journals were demolished and the cam towers were destroyed as well. They put in all new cams and towers. Put it all back together (35 days after dropping it off for the second time at that point) and it still had the exact same knocking at idle once the oil was up to temp. At that point, I had been driving one of the world's worst cars (Corolla) for going on two months and I'd had it. I filed for arbitration and Toyota corporate contacted me to buy back my FRS. It took them around 3 weeks to get me my check. Meanwhile, the original car is still at the dealer with no engine in it while they try to figure out what the issue is.

Apparently, there is another guy on the forum that also had the #2 rod bearing let go on him. While I totally understand that shit happens in manufacturing (work in the industry myself), it sucked to have to go through the ordeal of getting a lemon.

Awesome gain! I checked out the thread over in the FI section and my hat's off to you guys for by far the best looking setup for a centrifugal on this platform thus far. I truly like the way you guys mounted the C30 to the side with a toothed belt for reversing the rotation of the pulley and the very nice routing of the throttle body pipe. Add to that the ability to mount the C38 blowers, and you guys have the kit with the most headroom for growth as well. All around impressive work.

Yep I spoke with you last week at the Irvine meet. I was the one with the 10 Series Avo setup. Will post up the location soon. Meets are usually Saturdays around 8pm

Many thanks and looking forward to the info! LMK if you're ever in the market for a 'alternative' FI option!

Gah all this talk of cars going belly up has me nervous - normally I get cars that are lemons and my Wade has been acting suspicious - shifting oddly and redlining when he shouldn't be doing it - even today the brat wouldn't shift to last gear and nearly choked himself out, I had to let my foot off the gas so he'd shift then get back on it, not cool when you got some jackhole so far up your rear he's literally up your tailpipe >< and I have an A/T -sighs- Gotta love old men in Caddy coupes guess he didn't get his tee time that he wanted and decided to take it out on me ><
