Yeah! Lol I didnt mean it like that, my ideal goal would be 300-350 whp. And I was wondering if that's possible, reliably with the stock motor. This kit really has my attention I'm not gonna lie lol

I personally would not be comfortable going north of 320whp (400 crank hp) with a stock motor.

More specifically, I'm not comfortable with an increased redline on a stock motor, and anything more than about 250 lb/ft torque.

The more power you push through a stock drivetrain, the more risk you're taking.

This kit with some breathing mods and E85 will easily hit that 320whp mark.

As do I (;

Although the thornton's gas station near my house has E85 I don't know how much content of ethanol is really on there. And they only sell 92 gas while Exxon also next to my house has 93 octane.

That's all I needed to know, I will be waiting to see more results. But I think I'm set on buying this, aside from the JRSC. I think the fact that you'll be selling this on your website also assures me as well. The only thing I'm worried about but I'm sure it won't be an issue in the future is Delicious Tuning, I wonder if they'll do a Flash N Go tune with this kit.

I'm certain they will offer a FnG with it; CSG can package the FnG with the kit as well.

thats a lot of power for a stock motor isn't it? surely some supporting mods are required to make that power reliably?
and when I say reliably I mean for more than 10K miles

It sure is. If i were doing it to my own car, I wouldn't go close to those numbers, but we inform everyone of the risks involved when increasing output, and for the average street driven car, those numbers seem to be the point where failures start to get REALLY common.

More increased output = higher chances of failure. Where the risk is acceptable to each person is for them to decide, but at 242whp, Edelbrock is willing to warranty a drivetrain that they didn't make. That speaks volumes.

thats the key question isn't it? how far can you push these lumps reliably ?

from what I've seen the rods are weak and the valve spring pressure is inadequate for anything approaching 350 bhp (crank )

Potentially dumb question alert: will better fuel, like 93 or a mix with 91/100 (not e85), automatically get better output from the CARB tune, or would you need a separate tune?

Not a dumb question at all, I'm curious as well. I would guess its entirely dependent on the tune. I would think that the CARB tune would be optimized for 91 since that's what is available in CA and anything above would just be extra knock resistance (no timing advancement, etc for more power.)

what does it mean, "with tuner"?
Will I still have to get a custom tune to make this work or does it come with prebuilt maps? If so, does it come with high-altitude maps or does that not matter?
