@justinco and his codriver are the only guys running a 2017 MY Brz in STX.

FYI he's 25th out of 58 after the first day!

CS was a shark tank this year.

I really liked the the east course but just couldn't quite put it together over there. I was not looking forward to the west course but ended up getting the run I wanted there. (More or less)

-Would have liked to get a twin deeper into the trophies but my driving was stuck somewhere between "not bad" and "pretty good" when a lot of my competition was busy being AWESOME.

Does anyone know the stiffness of the front TRD bar compared to stock? I can't find a number on it besides diameter, which isn't enough to calculate stiffness without knowing the arm length.

I don't remember the actual percentages, but I do remember that the front bar increases stiffness considerably more than the rear bar.

The first day was tough, I did not drive too well

Thanks

Made a couple suspension changes for day 2. Had more confidence in the car and was able to drive it good enough for a decent come back. Happy with the trophy! With better driving, a better result is achievable for sure. Time to start prepping for 2018

Well I have koni yellow's on the way, I'll keep y'all updated with how the car does compared to the sachs once I'm on them and have a couple events under my belt on them. I know it won't be a great sample size but at least we'll have some kind of idea on it. I have another BRZ driver (DS) in my region and I'll get him to drive with me some to see what we can figure out!

The Konis are pretty good and I assume you bought the full-bodied ones? I know it's been hounded on here, but make sure you get the washers from Koni so you're legal in CS.

Have you driven the Sachs vs. regular OEM shocks?

They are full bodied and will have washers. But I have not driven on the OEM shocks.

I'm also looking at getting a front bar but wondering if it'd be better to get the koni's set up like I want first, then retweak when the bar is on. Or throw konis and an adjustable front bar together and work it out that way.

I just switched from the Perrin 19mm front to both TRD package bars, and I need more seat time to figure it out (and the BFG tires). I have not driven a 2017 and not sure if their stock bars are bigger, but I would do the bar too. I'd warn against going too big on the front bar, but I've found that any size can work if you adjust your driving style.

I broke the rule of changing lots of things before the biggest annual event, and my car felt great but was a little unfamiliar to me because of the changes I made. I think I'm now in the boat of getting the car how it should be, then make incremental shock, bar setting, tire pressure changes to get where it suits me best. I just need to find the money for the fancy shocks.

When I ran the TRD springs and sways, the car understeered. I ended up using the TRD rear bar and an ST front bar on the soft setting.

It was nice meeting you a couple weeks ago. I know we discussed this too, but I think the TRD stuff is a middle ground between the 25mm Hotchkis bar I used 4-5 years ago and the Perrin 19mm I've used for the past 3-4 years.

I'm going to stick with the TRD setup for a bit because the only understeer I was noticing since the bar switch was on corner entry. Mid-corner and exit seemed good and slaloms seem quite a bit better with the TRD stuff. I'll be chasing NDs for another year.

Also hope everything was okay for you guys in FL!

We were lucky to avoid the flooding and the house held up well for a direct hit. (I will be replacing some shingles this weekend if I can find stock somewhere) ....also still without power, but it could have been a lot worse.
