I went to Kearny Mesa and they already knew about the TSB, but they have only one Master Tech there. I spoke with him yesterday and confirmed that they don't actually have all the parts needed (after I was told they were ready for me). He also told me that since it would be the first one he's done, it could take a while if there are any issues (hence my quote of 2 days).

He said I could wait until he's done a few before working on my car so he could do mine in a shorter time, but we'll see if that happens. I mean, how many are on the road now and how many of those will make it to that specific dealer for this service? Anyway, I'll have to wait a while now since they still don't have all the parts to complete the job.

My car was built 8-12 and 3718 is last 4 of VIN. So I should be clear on the squeaking noise... I've never heard it, but I'm only at 275 miles.

I suggested that my experience be shared at the next regular dealership meeting. 24 Hours passed. The dealer customer care representative just called to say the replacement pump/parts are on order and he will call me again when arrived to schedule service. He apologised, explaining that the TSB wasn't in the company system yet, but they got an approval from Scion to proceed.

(I always feel a little bit like a space traveller when visiting any dealer, as if we are all in some sort of alien "time warp", struggling for air and desperate for human understanding of WTF is going to happen next. I call it "The Alienating Experience".)
SO CRAZEEEEE!!!

Dealer contacted me 5 times with recorded messages stating "...parts are on-hand, schedule your service visit now." Each time I called parts to confirm "...on-hand" they apologized advising "...still waiting for one manifold gasket." I asked them not to call me until ready for service - PLEASE.

Monday the service advisor called with the good news. ALL THE PARTS ARE HERE! We were both surprised and relieved that the 5 week adventure would be soon over. Today I brought the car in for a 9 a.m. appointment and after waiting an hour was told: "Well, sorry, but we still need a manifold gasket. Don't worry about it because it is being rushed overnight at our expense and we will do it tomorrow."

What? Me worry?

so I heard from scion USA again today and apparently there is no ETA of an ECU for my frs... I am starting to miss my car more and more its been over a week that Ive been without it and they told me I will hear back from them on Nov. 1st. I am disappointed with the response to this issue by scion and the dealer I am working with. SO FRUSTRATING

Oh for sure. I'm waiting on the dealership to contact me when they get the part. Will keep you posted.

Took mine in last saturday for assessment on the chirp as they had to do that in order to get the parts ordered. Parts came in Tuesday and I drop off in the morning for the fix....along with a couple other minor things like back window tint issue and front passenger door speaker rattle.

Mine only really started chirping about 3 or 4 weeks ago when I started using manual more and rev-ing a higher (4-6k). Anyhow...we'll see if it fixes it.

Please forgive me as I might be completely wrong in asking this, but is there beginning to be a correlation between replacing the fuel pump and the CEL coming on (or back for those who have had it happen)? I should be getting my car back today (crosses fingers) and I'm pretty certain I've read that the CEL has come back on for some people, or has shown up for the first time after the pump has been replaced.

^My idle has been getting progressively more erratic, now dipping into 500rpms, if I have A/C on while idling (stays rock-solid with A/C off). I don't think there was any noticeable change after the HPFP got replaced.
Gonna ask the dealer if idle can be adjusted up before I get the CEL. I'm @7k miles.

My idle bucked a couple more times than usual post install, but it's not anything way beyond what it did before, maybe 1-2 more at a stoplight if that... No CEL before or after.
