I'm using Carbotech AX6 pads. I love them, they are great for autocross and ok for street if you don't mind the extra brake dust and noise.

I haven't tried them on track yet, I'll find out at the 86 track meet coming up.

I've heard good things about the Ferodo 2500's. They would probably work out better in longer track sessions.

I'm running Gloc R10's up front and Carbotech XP10's rear. They make noise but stop the car rather well. No fading on track at all and great initial bite for autox.

Gloc and Carbotech are basically the same company. So the R10 is equal to the XP10. Im getting close to changing the fronts to XP8/R8's.

We had a pretty large showing yesterday at the Texas SCCA autocross at TMS. Great driving by everyone that attended!

Here's my best run. 1st in STX and 4th in pax.

My son(17yo) and I did our first AutoX event at TMS yesterday. He was driving Ms Daisy mostly but did improve his time with each run. I had him ride along for my 4th run which really helped him, he improved 6 seconds on his last run....like everyone says, Seat time is the most important thing. Here's a link to my last and best run, finished with fastest raw time in Novice and 2nd with PAX scoring. We are both hooked!!!

I had a busy weekend of racing, started with the NTAXS event on Saturday at TMS where I was able to win class 1 and put down the 4th fastest raw time of the day. Brandon (bslate3) managed to take 3rd in X class and placed 6th overall only 3 tenths behind me. Strangely, I managed to exactly match my fastest morning run on my 7th run (I don't think I've ever had two identical runs before).

After the NTAXS event, I drove up to OKC and ran with the Oklahoma Region SCCA on Sunday. I took first in STX (I only had to beat Jon Miller), I managed 7th overall and 6th in PAX. I spun on my last run when I couldn't quite hold the drift around the entire back sweeper.

Registration for the next Club Trials on Saturday, August 26 is now open on the 1.3 at MSR Cresson. There is also a PDX for those who aren't experienced track rats.

Discount Tire Direct has a sale on Bridgestones, $70 prepaid card and free shipping when you order a set of 4 (their price is also lower than TireRack before any rebates).

Here are a few videos from the Phase II EVO school I went to this past Saturday in Mineral Wells. The focus was on the mental aspect of the sport and there wasn't any timing. We did run a bunch of different configurations of the course, and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to get faster.

In the afternoon they encouraged us to name and then call out the upcoming elements, which is why I'm yelling out stuff in the second half of the videos. I actually think that doing this helped.

I have to work that Saturday, otherwise I would have signed up. Gonna make this a thing for next year.

We had a strong showing today at the SCCA event at the Bus Lot, lots of twins out. Twins took the top odd spots in STX with 1st, 3rd, and 5th (Brandon <bslate3>, David <Shneegle>, and me respectively). We were all in the top 20 in PAX as well.

My best:

And Thomas' <BRZEE> First run:

I also went to the BMWCCA event on Saturday where I finished 7th in class and 10th overall, Brandon managed 3rd in both class and overall (1.2s ahead of me on an 80+ sec course).

My best from Saturday:

While Sam, Brandon and David showed how it's done, I brought up the rear today. Only my 2nd AutoX event...lots to learn.

The photographer at the BMW event managed to snap a series of pictures of when I ran over a cone and popped out my side marker (which had been on the car for less than 12hrs).

You can see the bumper cover flexing on impact.
