Not likely. Dealers wont delete cars, they'll resell the ones that were cancelled to other customers who already ordered, or then to new customers if existing orders don't match.

so you're saying, new customers that comes in and ask for the same spec and colour as to the previous owner that bailed on the order, gets to jump the queue (kinda of), right? just guessing...

Yeah thats what I mean. I'm hopeful my dealer does the right thing that when there is a cancel, the next in line for that make and model gets bumped up, and not just sells to a new customer.

Pulled a miracle, ordered a manual Black GTS with Aero last weekend.. Avoided the 19 month waiting period, instead it arrives in 6 weeks! Although I haven't told my supra yet...

I now know who bought my GTS.

Congratulations!

If my wife wasn't having a baby in September I'd be driving that car myself.

They're not queue jumping if other customers refuse them. We would always inform existing customers first, but there's always a chance that people can pick up cancelled orders before factory orders have arrived.

I still have one on order. The boss offered me this one after a deal fell through. The timing is terrible with house settlement and baby all in September so I'm holding onto the later order and also my GT order. Whichever comes first I'll take. I think it'll be the GT as I have quite a lot of mods planned... But people will read more about this car and my side project soon.

That's really a bit of a jam, but I guess whichever the car comes sooner just take it and worry about the finances later

Well all the best with the 86, and also especially congrats on the baby and new house!

thanks mOnty, appreciate your comments. My Dealer had a cancellation on a 'Tornado Grey' GT manual and offered me that considering where I was on their list but I told him thanks but no, I will wait for my 'Velocity Orange' instead! It was good to see that at least they contacted those who already had placed orders before putting it to the 'general public''

All we have to do is source a spare wheel unless of course it gets 'bumped' to September build from October, considering Toyota letter of 10 July saying GT wait is around 2/3 months

Congratulations on the new baby, new house and all!!

Sorry I'm going to be annoying, I have had 0 effort from my salesmen to contact me and its getting a lil annoying. I have no idea on what processes they're either meant to or do go through.

Hypothetical 1:

"A" has a GTS Red on order and is due in Sep
"B" has a GTS Red on order and is due in Oct
"C" has a GTS Red on order and is due in Nov
"D" wants to buy a Red GTS, not on order

"A" decides to drop his order
Dealer offers "B", takes A's order
Dealer offers "C", takes B's order
Dealer offers "D", takes C's order

Hypothetical 2:

"A" has a GTS Red on order and is due in Sep
"B" has a GTS Silver on order and is due in Oct
"C" has a GTS Red on order and is due in Nov
"D" wants to buy a Red GTS, not on order

"A" decides to drop his order
Does the dealer then offer it to "B", or skips him and goes to "C"?

Hypothetical 3:

"A" drops order
"D" walks in on that day, dealers says oh look, we have a cancelled order, and gives "D" that order, with a very short wait time?
