Good to know there's other "middle age" enthusiasts here, I'm 66. Bought my 2013 FRS as a Retirement present a couple years ago and installed the Edelbrock SC last June. Ceramic coated Tomei EL header/overpipe have improved performance even further. BT's MAP relocation kit and a CSG tune by
Zack have been purchased, to be installed soon. looking forward to Spring and installing Michelin Pilot Sport 4S's

CNC shop gave me an estimated ship date of March 30th so hopefully I'll have the RMAP blocks on your doorstep by mid/late April!

Edelbrock Equipped Clutch Replacement

Has anyone attempted to replace the clutch on an Eforce equipped engine?
Were you able to accomplish this without removing the supercharger first?
Thanks

I had to lift the S/C an inch to replace a leaking banjo bolt crush washer.
I’d have to think lifting the S/C even more would be necessary to remove the slave cylinder bolts and most likely the starter bolts as well. All were easily accessible per Edelbrock.
Good luck! I may be going down that road soon as well.

You can pull it without removing the superchager, I've done it at least 5 times. Those slave cylinder bolts are def a pain in the ass. A crows foot will help it go a little smoother or lift it slightly as stated above.

While it can be done like BT has said, it makes doing the work a lot easier to just remove it. I had to replace my clutch last spring. We loosened, and lifted when needed to, to do the job. If I had it to do over again, I would just remove and reinstall.

Has anyone tried installing the Cusco water to oil cooler with the EB SC already installed ?
Just wondering if there are any clearance issues, specifically the hose that connects to the existing top radiator hose ?

https://www.cusco.co.jp/en/jpg/Water...r%20New_A4.jpg

Anyone at all ??

Update, for those interested, went to local Toyota dealer they wanted £40 for PCV and it was not in stock. Phoned Subaru £4.33 I paid more for the postage.

Fitted new PCV keeping the catchcan installed as well, and topped up the oil. First start sounded like shit and I shut engine down after 30 sec run to check fluids all ok. No Codes on DTC ECUtek.
Kept restarting and shutting down for longer and longer duration checking the fluids all fine now.

Car is running better than ever no idle fluctuations, so far. But I haven't risked a longer trip yet.

I did get the PCV for the turbo FA20 (11810AA141) told Subaru it was a Forrester. Not sure if that was the difference or if it was the old PCV was Knackered. But if you are getting erratic idle and no load stalls, try swapping out the PCV.

In case anyone is interested, I'm selling my horizontally mounted oil cooler. I no longer have the car and it's just sitting in my garage.

Here is the link to the for sale thread. LINK

I posted this fun upgrade long ago in this Edelbrock thread and have since received many inquiries about over the years. I just figured this should go to an Edelbrock equipped owner since it worked so well with this setup.

I’ve been running richer and richer lately on my LTFT trim (-20% at times). I know I have a cracked weld at the header that is probably leaking. But I read that would read as a positive LTFT? I have a new JDL header coming this week.

My concern is it could be the BPV. I have 7k miles on my SC I bought last year. Are rich LTFTs a sign of a bad BPV or is this likely a result of the cracked weld on the header?

It depends on WHEN youre getting the trim. When does the trim appear and when does it go away?

Thanks Mike.

The trim is at idle and with slight throttle. It improves under hard acceleration but my trims do not go positive and they used to under hard acceleration. The trims are the most negative at idle and when in a vacuum (decelerating/engine braking)

The car is running fine except for a slight feeling of power loss during a pull (could be in my head).

My BPV has two bolts which I believe is the upgraded one?

Update: I’m so fukking frustrated. I just tried to get coffee and it did the normal cold start. Then almost died when the cold start ended. Then it tried to stall at a stop sign and I had to immediately head home while blipping the throttle when stopped.

I saw LTFTs where -10%+ going 10mph while feathering the clutch. This problem has been progressive since I was getting slight shutters at stop lights for about a week.

2020 BRZ 13.5k miles. Edelbrock since 7k

Stock fueling with WA 92. Stock boost pulley. No issues ever till this.

Ignore my past comment about unmetered air going into the engine, I misread your update since you mentioned it's running rich. If you're getting negative LTFT it's pulling fuel for some reason. Not adding fuel to compensate for unmetered air. A leaky header can cause negative LTFT if it's upstream of the O2 sensor(s).
