Fast forward to 2 weeks later, and I was able to pick up a '13 whiteout for a pretty decent price. any who, just wanted to stop in and share my story BTW, any advice for a first time RWD car owner for driving in the snow? I picked up the car yesterday and its supposed to snow tomorrow! no time to put winter tires on
Don't even bother with 1st gear, start from second. I'm sure my tranny hates it but way to much torque in first gear to even think about going anywhere. And avoid hills. Even the little ones in the parking lot get me. Be careful and good luck!!

New FR-S

Last week picked up a new 2013 Hot Lava 6-Speed. Will be a SoCal canyon carver and not a DD. Thanks for all the info and reviews on ft86club.net. Info helped decide on ordering parts: AFE intake and Nameless Performance 3" cat back exhaust so far.

As my name, MR2Chuck, says, my last track car was a 300 hp MR2 MkII.

Brand new member, been drooling over the frs since I heard Subaru and Toyota were collaborating (even though they're pretty much the same company) and was torn between a mustang gt and frs.
Obviously I went with frs lol! Test drove the 10 series I now own and was sold! --> side note the rep said that was the first test drive where the client was doing donuts. Hehehe

Currently have a cusco suction pipe kit, k&n drop in (installed) and have borla uels waiting for me to get the rest of my exhaust

Not looking to be too crazy with mods..... Maybe..
Just figured I'd drop by and post how I wound up with one Name: ImageUploadedByTapatalk1391331394.253723.jpg

Hi all. I love this car. My daugher currently drives it. I'm here to keep informed and current with all aspects of this new little sports car. Guess you could say Dad is looking out for his daughter.

Got car in October 2013.

No problems thus far save for a few chirps from fuel pump I'm told by daughter. And they are very minor indeed. In fact I never heard them myself.

Sorry to hear Consumer Reports revised asessment of the Scion. Oh well.

Looking forward to keeping up here.

We live in the South, and I just saw the Service Bulletin of the frozen window thing applies to our model. In freezing weather snow etc..the window once rolled down may not roll back up. Don't know if it should be of concern or not in our climate.

I'll keep reading and trying to get up to speed with the forum info.
Don't hesitate to advise me if you so desire. Glad to be here. Have a good one.

Kind of a nickname I picked up while sailing, saw a bunch of jelly fish and a mate had me almost convinced that I was seeing things and said "there's no jellyfish out there you jelly head" and it stuck lol

WELCOME ..... Streamer ......

That is a mighty fine automobile you picked out for your daughter .....

If you're in the southern part of Texas, I wouldn't worry about the window TSB. The dealership may do more damage trying to "fix" it. As you know, if it aint broke ......

If your daughter doesn't mind hearing "the crickets" and you can't hear them ...... well, it's sort of like the tree falling in the woods - sound thing .....

The car will run just fine with the fuel pump chirping, as I understand it.

If it were my daughter, I would advise her to keep her finger off the "sport mode" button; always use premium fuel and keep her distance from parking stops.....

Hello folks!

I've been itching to post on this forum but had to hold back until I actually got my very own. I browsed the forum extensively for information and it really helped a lot.

Took delivery of a 2013 firestorm red FR-S 6MT this afternoon! Can't believe being this excited to go to work tomorrow
