I'm so glad this car will be wide considering it's height. The MKII seems the most realistic for a production car, so I can see why Toyota is going with it.

Did I miss some news? Since when is Toyota "going with" the MKII?

From geneva they said the mkII is whats the production is going to be close to. And the mules there are testing have the same body as the mkII just different lamps and bumpers. So yeah the Fr-s concept had nothing to do with anything other than grabbing more attention.

Yes, you must've missed all the news regarding Toyota admitting the FT-86 II is about 90% the production car, and all the spy photos and videos of the test cars in Germany and California have most of their styling cues from the MkII, except the nose which is more MkI.

the frs is the best looking one imo. It's got those nice fenders out back and the bulges up front. Makes it look almost exotic. Guess it is too good to be true.

^ The frs does look like an exotic. Imo the mkI was the best looking/cleanest design. Idk in the frs I think the car would need a lot more power to pull off such an aggressive look. But yeah it was too good to be true. Maybe one day they will revive the supra and use the fr-s concept as the design...now THAT would be awesome

Yup. It's a shame they're not using the MKIII but the MKII is a close second imo.

Imo the MKIII concept was overdone, glad it's not taking after that one actually.

Anyways, here's the Supra/FT86-II comparison. Note that the Supra height wasn't stock, and I had to eyeball and raise it, so the ride height might not be accurate.

The FR-S was a non-running concept car. It was just an oversize model kit, no engine, no running gear, no anything. It was a publicity stunt that had nothing to do with anything, really.
