I've also come to realize, unless it's super hot, the pump makes ample oil pressure right off of idle. I've gotten comfortable with putting around between 1 & 2 thou, as long as I'm only cracking the throttle.

Also, I think because of DBW, the torque limit of a stock ROM protects the engine.
Is DBW an area in Texas?

that's as far as I got.

Reminds me of one of my Army days back in the 60s. I got transferred to Ft Knox, so we rented an apartment in Louisville. The weather had been quite hot and this apartment had been vacant for a while.

I went to the store and got some steaks to broil in the oven. I pulled the broiler pan out of the lower oven drawer and took off the broiler pan cover to line the pan with foil.

The pan was full of live maggots !!!!!!.........

I dumped them off the deck, put the oven on "clean" and we went out to eat that night.

THE END

The gas pedal doesn't actually control the gas anymore. It signals to the ECU how much torque to request of the engine.

In between many other functions is one that limits how much torque the engine is allowed to make as a function of RPM. Part of the reason there is a torque dip is because no matter how much you mash on the gas pedal, ...

Went off track into dirt/gravel/grass during the 2nd lap of my final session today. I fucked up bad Car _seems_ ok. Basically checked it thoroughly three times. It's possible one of my tires got slightly elongated or something because there was a faint thump noise when I drove, but everything checked out ok (plastic fine, nothing hanging under the car, wheels not bent, etc.).

Will have to take it easy on the way home tomorrow and if something happens get it checked.

The 7mile drive back to the hotel on a straight road was fine, though too. No more thumping noise/feeling and suspension felt normal, steering was centered as well.

Thinking it was either the elongated tire shape thing, or perhaps a clod of dirt in a wheel wheel or something.

I had a great time, just fuckign sucks that it ended that way. I'm very disappointed. Also most of my gopro video didn't turn out even though I followed the internet suggestion of using spot meter mode :|

Anyway I'll have a more detailed write up in a couple days, plus mention of how my coach reminded me of @Tcoat; also, my coach was 73 y/o and owns a manual 2017 BRZ with performance pack, like me, lol. He was craaaaazy when he took me on the track in his. Holy. Shit.

He rode around with you muttering oh shit oh shit oh shit?

If your car drives ok it probably is. Don't feel bad about the poor ending. It just means you have upped your skills to your current limit. You will surpass that limit with more practice. Remember even the pros that have been driving for years sometimes surpass their limits and crash.
