Transmissions are rated in torque. The low torque output of the JRSC (relative to a turbo) is a HUGE plus in this case.

I've seen many destroyed transmissions on turbo cars, but not from a JRSC.

Alternatively, release the tension on your belt, and try turning the SC pulley by hand. It should turn readily. (Just push the tensioner down, and slide the belt off to release tension; leave everything else in place.)

How do you "just push down the tensioner"?


I sent the video to my mechanic and he thinks it is either a bearing in the rotex, or the turbine is contacting the housing. Jackson is sending me the paperwork to send it in for warranty. I hope I'm not down long. They are responding pretty slow with SEMA going on.


Question: When I get the new unit, shouldn't the fluid and the filter in the SC system be changed?

You'll most likely get a new reservoir, oil, and filter. You should change the fluid.

Put a 14mm socket on the auto-tensioner, and push down on the ratchet. You'll then be able to slide the belt off. If you don't know how to do this, show your mechanic my post and he'll be able to perform the test in a few minutes.

New rotrex fluid, filter, and reservoirs are included with superchargers (both warrantied and new).

Around this time last year I was having issues with a CEL of running too rich. I tried all the usual things: making sure clamps are tight, adjusting the MAF, rinse repeat. I ended up buying a replacement MAF, MAF extension cable, and a new air filter. I never installed the extension cable, but after replacing the old air filter with the new one all my issues went away and it ran perfectly.

Here I am again now with the same problems though. I suspect it's the air filter again since that's what it seemed to be the first time. I've purchased a K&N cleaning/oil kit even though the filter itself seems to not be dirty. Is it possible that the oil is just dried up? I don't track the car and I do drive somewhat aggressively. Is it the weather? I don't think it's the heat or cold(not that it gets THAT cold), but maybe it's dryer here? I live in the San Jose area. Thoughts/ideas from anyone why I'm still having this issue?

How long did it take you guys to receive the kit? Does it really take up to 2-3 weeks to get?

I bought mine last year and I think it was closer to 8 weeks.

Their kits are made to order. Lead time isn't affected by where you purchase, but the level of support you receive is affected.
