If there is anyone around the forums/list who hasn't been to Canepa yet, it is one of the nation's finest historical restoration/race prep houses with a fine museum of auto/machinery. Visitors have unparalleled access to some of the auto world's rarest and most interesting examples. If you made it this far in this post, you must visit Canepa Designs if you think of yourself as a 'petrolhead.'

As Chris noted, it's been a year or 3 since I last went... do you think if we arrive by 7:30AM we will be OK in terms of finding parking in Canepa's lot?
If so, I am thinking that means departing from Alice's at say 6:30AM. Take Skyline and Hwy 9 down to Scotts Valley. Unless you want to get there even earlier than 6:30AM, no time for breakfast at Alice's. Just grab something to go before hand, or hope that there is something available at Canepa or nearby afterwards.

I'm definitely bringing the camera ... the variety and quality of the cars both in the Canepa showroom and the shop floor is incredible.

I think that if we arrive within the first hour, we will be okay. However, I think getting there about 8:00 or so should be just fine. I have to drive in from Modesto,

There are a few fast food joints in the area along the main drag. Its hard for me to eat and carve corners comfortably afterwards. Coffee on the other hand...

I just want to get some miles on this car!

OK, I think I will leave the meeting time at 6:30AM at Alice's, with a planned rollout at 7AM. That will allow us to have a fun drive down Skyline and 9, and reach Canepa a bit before 8AM to ensure we can secure good parking.

yes. but you had to find me at Canepa and depending on what era car I happened to be standing in front of, you had to sing a popular hit song from that era to earn your star. *** sorry, the event has ended ***

because after waking up at 5AM and having a super early morning drive down some of the best roads in the Bay Area, with virtually no traffic most of the way, and then having your mind blown at Canepa seeing some of the most incredible cars on display and being restored, and then stopping to have an awesomely delicious breakfast in Scotts Valley... then taking the mentally and physically exhausting touge-battle-like Hwy 17 back over the hill to the Bay Area ... by the time I got home it was nap time. Those of you who didn't make it ... sucks to be you! This was a great one.
