Edelbrock email I just received:

"How Much?" You ask...
The moment many have been waiting for, pricing for the BRZ/FR-S E-Force supercharger system has finally been determined. You'll be able to pick up the stage-1 supercharger system with tuner (Part# 1556) from your preferred dealer for $5,399.87...Yes, you read right $5,399.87.

We are now one step closer to the official product release which is anticipated to happen very soon. We hate to keep you waiting any longer, as we know there are some eager lead feet out there, but we are committed to ensuring that this system meets the quality standards that customers have come to expect from the E-Force brand. Until then, stay tuned for more information.

Picked up my FRS from Edelbrock!!! After 6.5 weeks of waiting and driving their loaner car, I finally get to drive her again with the sc installed!!!

Love the thought that I'm the first consumer to have it on my FRS on top of the fact the Edelbrock themselves installed it..hehe Also got a hellavu deal with the price since it was the test car. So worth the wait!

Haven't had a chance to really test out the sc as I had to get to work and was in traffic.

I'll see what this baby can do this weekend or maybe even tonight. I'll try to post some pics later today.

I will have to loan them back my car as they are waiting to be scheduled for emissions testing so they can finally get the CARB approval.

Sorry to be that guy, but how does a TVS compete with a Rotrex in terms of mechanical efficiency and heat. I have been leading towards centrifugal superchargers because so far it has the least heat problem.

Different supercharger, different goal, but heat won't be an issue with the TVS.

*edit* In CARB form. Obviously if you build your engine and make 400whp with the Edelbrock, then you will need more cooling.

I have so many questions!

What was the loner car?
How was the traffic to work?
Got anything fun planned for this weekend? Fri nights are usually movie nights for me, so what are we seeing? I hear Ant-man is pretty good, but I kinda wanna see Straight Outta Compton too, but, I don't know, you're driving so you pick...
Why the emissions testing? Did you have a 2009 FRS?

Joking aside, looking forward to your impressions!

Any idea of pulley options? I have a 70mm on my Sprintex at the moment and considering the swap and I figured that the original pulley will be slighly down on power on my current setup.

The emissions testing isn't just a smog test like you normally have to do every 2 years, (in comparison those are a cake walk, you can pass them without cats etc... if you know what you are doing, not counting the visual) this is a full blown test like the OEM's have to complete to make the vehicles 50 state legal, that can only be done at specific labs. It's a major PITA...

The standard E.O. kit pulley is a 3.25", there are 3", 2.75" and 2.625" pulleys available, IF you still want more boost (who doesn't???) you could always have a bigger crank pulley fabricated...

The E-Force will come with a 3.25" (diam. over gauge wires) pulley.
3.000
2.750
2.625

are available.

Depending on what size you choose, you may end up needing a shorter belt. E-Force superchargers use Goodyear/Veyance belts for sizing. Other belts will work, however the sizing will vary even if you get same listed size. Goodyear/Veyance belts are superior because they are kevlar re-inforced and have special grooves.

On the standard 3.25" pulley, the belt used is 95.5" in length.
You may need a 95.2" or 95.0" belt, which is available at most retailers or Amazon @ ~ $21.00.

Here's the chart for reference

Yup, the TVS blowers are not your 'old school' inefficient roots blowers, they're highly optimized and quite efficient.

Would you guys go with an EL or UEL header with this kit? Seems like EL would be the way to go if looking for a higher peak number.

I would like to see Dyno's showing which way this would go as well even if it's other twin/roots style kits. I have the PLM Long Tube EL's and always like the sound of UEL's more. I have almost gone back a few times now but I really would like to know if there is a power difference between the two on this kind of FI application.
