FYI, there is going to be a Cars & Coffee type event tomorrow morning in front of the Lowes at the Rim. Starts at 8am and will be on the second Saturday of each month.

10 Day forecast looking good for this next Saturday's Twisted Run!!

I know the cupcake thing is going on that afternoon so, if anyone wants to just do the drive to Leaky and then split to head back to town feel free to do that. Upon arriving in Leaky we will stop at the Stripes convenience store before we head out to do the loop on the 3sisters.

Saturday's Roll Chart

MEETUP AT 8 AM: Whataburger IH10 at HWY 46 in Boerne. Meet & greet, coffee & breakfast at Whataburger, photo op of our cars lined up, etc. We may park away from the Whataburger building so look for the group. (Don't forget to gas up in Boerne before we hit the road!...the next fuel stop opportunity will be in Leakey, Texas.)

1) DEPART FROM WHATABURGER AT 9 AM. If you are late, we will stop briefly in Medina, TX for about 15 minutes so you may be able to catch up with us....just follow the directions below.

2) FROM WHATABURGER, TAKE A LEFT ON HWY 46 TO HEAD FOR HWY 16 AND TAKE A RIGHT TO BANDERA, TEXAS.

3) CONTINUE ON HWY 16 THROUGH THE TOWN OF BANDERA TO MEDINA, TEXAS.

IN MEDINA, WE WILL STOP AT THE APPLE STORE ON THE RIGHT FOR A BRIEF PIT STOP AND PHOTO SHOOT (15-20 MIN.) (TRY AN APPLE ICE CREAM CONE OR GET AN APPLE TURNOVER FOR THE ROAD!)

THE APPLE STORE IS THE ALTERNATE MEET UP SPOT FOR THOSE HEADING OUT FROM SA ON BANDERA RD. WE SHOULD ARRIVE THERE AT APPROX. 9:45 AM.

4) FROM MEDINA TX, WE HEAD OUT ON HWY 16 FOR A FEW BLOCKS AND TAKE A LEFT ON RR337 HEADING WEST TO LEAKEY, TEXAS. WE WILL ENCOUNTER SOME NICE TWISTIES ON THIS ROAD JUST PRIOR TO ARRIVING IN LEAKEY! ENJOY!!

5) ARRIVE IN LEAKEY. AT STOP SIGN, TAKE A LEFT ON HWY 83 - GO DOWN TO THE STRIPES CONVENIENCE STORE AT FARM ROAD 1120 (IT'S JUST A FEW BLOCKS DOWN). BRIEF 15-20 MINUTE PIT STOP AND LAST CHANCE FOR GASOLINE, SNACKS, CELL PHONE CALLS, ETC.

6) LET'S ROLL! NORTH ON HWY 83 ABOUT A MILE FROM TOWN AND TAKE RR336 TO TEXAS 41. IN THE PAST, THIS HAS BEEN A VERY FAST FUN RUN.

WE WILL HAVE TWO GROUPS. THE FIRST BEING A BIT FASTER DRIVING THAN THE SECOND GROUP.

NOVICE DRIVERS IN THE SECOND GROUP WILL HEAD UP THE REAR AND LEADER OF THIS GROUP WILL NOT LEAVE YOU BEHIND! WE WILL SLOW DOWN AFTER THE TWISTIES SO YOU CAN CATCH UP IF YOU DO FALL BEHIND.

FIRST GROUP WILL PULL OVER AT A SAFE SPOT TO WAIT FOR THE SECOND GROUP TO CATCH UP BEFORE TURNING LEFT ON HIGHWAY 41.

7) LEFT ON TEXAS 41 HEADING WEST. SOME LONG CURVY, HILLY, MOSTLY STRAIGHT HIGHWAY FOR 15 MILES. ENJOY THE SCENERY!

8) FROM STATE HWY 41, TAKE RR 335 ON THE LEFT.

FYI. WE MAY STOP SOON AFTER GETTING ON THIS ROAD BEFORE ENTERING THE TWISTIES AND HAVE A GROUP PHOTOSHOOT AT A SAFE PULLOVER SPOT.

USE CAUTION ON THIS ROAD AS WE HAVE SEEN SLOW MOVING BICYCLISTS AND MOTORCYCLISTS ON THIS ROAD IN THE PAST.

ALSO, BE AWARE OF AREAS WHERE THERE MAY BE ROCKS ON THE ROAD. SOME MAY BE FROM CONSTRUCTION AT THE BEGINNING OF THIS RUN. BE SAFE.

9) TOWARD THE END OF THE STRETCH ON 335 WE WILL TAKE A LEFT ON HWY 55 TO CAMP WOOD. (IN PAST RUNS, WE HAVE SEEN RADAR NEAR CAMP WOOD AND ON THE ROAD BACK TO LEAKEY.)

FIRST GROUP WILL WAIT FOR THE SECOND GROUP TO CATCH UP BEFORE WE HEAD IN TO CAMP WOOD SO THAT EVERYONE MAKES THE LEFT TURN THERE.

10) FROM HWY 55 IN CAMP WOOD TAKE A LEFT ON TO RR 337 TO HEAD BACK TO LEAKEY. TWISTIES ARE TOWARDS THE END OF THIS RUN.

11) BEFORE ARRIVING BACK IN LEAKEY ON RR 337 - WE WILL STOP FOR LUNCH AT THE BENT RIM GRILL (Burgers and fries) 657 West RR 337 (1/2 mile west of Hwy 83).

BE PREPARED TO SLOW DOWN FOR A RIGHT TURN AND WE WILL PARK TOGETHER AS A GROUP FOR PICS. (BENT RIM HAS A BIG SELECTION OF TWISTED SISTERS T-SHIRTS AND THE BURGERS ARE AWESOME.)
