You aren't failing. I don't believe your dealer either. 1,200 cars for the year would be the most idiotic move Subaru has ever made.

IMO they are just killing the GB because they know they can make more money selling outside of it, but are allowing the first few in as 'goodwill'.

But if all the sales have gone through for the GB. It would've put their dealership ontop of the subaru dealerships. (The star seller quality).

It's been shot down because corporate will allow 1 premium and 1 limited model TO EVERY subaru dealer. In the U.S. 2 CARS. for the ENTIRE YEAR. Everyone who had put down a deposit will get refunded. EXCEPT for the first 2 people who had put down a deposit or had pre-ordered with a large amount or full amount for the car. The dealers are selling it above msrp for those 2 vehicles.

HOWEVER!

If you want a group buy for any other subaru vehicles.. I can help you get $500 above dealer invoice for imprezas, WRX, outbacks, etc any other subaru vehicle.

Next year the 2014 model will have more released making it a larger group of vehicles. THAT will be a group buy and I spoke with Frank about it so we WILL MOST LIKELY get discount on add-ons, extended services for that group and the subaru VIP program WILL WORK for that deal. Guaranteed.

You are certianly not at fault, as I believe this is an unfortunate case of "bait & switch" combined with greed. It was very obvious how much effort you put in to try and get this deal together and to the finish line.

I think the truth will turn out to be that Frank and his dealership are just plain old scumbags.

He'll be marked a scumbag dealer when I find out how many cars and who gets the cars. I didn't give him the list of names of people who did. Nor did I give him an idea of who. Meaning those who weren't on the group buy were also some people I know.

Lol. I'll find out. No dealer messes with this group deal... and its members.

Yikes, that seems to be depressing news. I do wonder if Toyota had played a hand in this, funneling more demand towards the FR-S?

I find it very difficult to believe that only 1200 cars will be produced over an extended May 2012-August 2013 MY.

If Scion gets the same # of cars and the total represents 1/2 of the worldwide production (which is about normal for sports cars) then we are talking smaller than Ferrari sales volumes and those cars are still partially hand built.

My BS meter is off the scale on 1200 cars a year...I expect it to be between 5k-12k cars per year.

It definitely sucks about your group buy, but I don't believe for a second that the reasons they gave you are factual. Someone may have told them they would only get 2 cars per month, but that person has to be mis-informed.
