Erm.... Lots and lots of folk who have experience driving a lot more machinery than I do have claimed otherwise. Not wanting to carry the thread OT, but unless you have a fair bit of miles under your belt behind the wheel of all the above and are willing to quantify that experience, I respectfully suggest you do research.

Can't argue with vulgar. One would say the RS4 and C63 are quite vulgar as well (as well as previous M3s.. I find the E92 rather....restrained).

p.s. You own an ST205 GT4. IS F ...Vulgar? Really?

p.p.s. for the millionth time, the fucking tips aren't plastic. They are steel.

and although I don't buy it, this is the explanation that was given to Lexus techs as to why they aren't connected:
Quote:
During testing of the IS-F, they originally had a classic twin tip can design it but at high speeds the car became so unstable at high speeds because of the turbulence that developed in that area of the car the test drivers told the engineers that they needed to change something to make it more stable at higher speeds. So, through testing we now have the current configuration of quad stacked exhaust tips with diffuser panels around them and air foils under the trunk belly. This significantly changes the air flow in that area of the car and made it much more stable at high speeds

Man I've been lurking this site for some time now and I haven't bothered posting until today.

First off, I can't wait for this car... It's got everything I want in a sports car and its affordable to boot.

Out of all the concepts, I preferred the mark II the most so I'm happy that the car is turning out this way... EXCEPT FOR THE TAIL-LIGHTS.

I found the original back end of the mk II best, it reminded me quite a bit of the supra.

Don't get me wrong, the styling on the scion/mk III is super nice, but I think it needs to be toned down just a bit... more like the mk II.

I'm interested in seeing what the final production model is going to look like, but for the love of god I hope they change the tail-lights.

I agree with you 100%; I knew someone else out there would share the same love of the MKII tail lights as I had!

I'll join the MkII fan club! lol
I think the only thing on the MkII I didn't like was the funny vents on the back and the weird looking spoiler, everything else was so nice. Don't know why people hate on it

11' Fiesta @ ~2550lbs
wheelbase 98
length 160.1
Width 66.8
height 58

I know you really can't compare a Fiesta to it but that's one heavy car regardless for it's size. You add to the above bigger body panels/flares, bigger engine, bigger brakes, bigger wheels, bigger exhaust, 6spd, driveshaft, rear end. That's 300+lbs

Unless they are using hallow sways, aluminum driveshaft, alum. suspension arms(not stamped steel), aluminum hood, trunk and roof skin than I don't see how it's possible.
I just want to point out that the Fiesta is a heavy lump. The Mazda 2 is based on the exact same chassis with the exact same engine, albeit tuned differently, and it weighs closer to 2300lbs Source:Mazda USA. The curb weight is under Engine/Mechanical.

Also I've said that the FT-86 might weigh 2800lbs before so I call dibs . Although I hope it is closer to 2600lbs .

Woah calm down there mate No need to get yourself all worked up and sweary.

Its just my honest opinion that the IS-F is vulgar. And yes the ST205 is ugly compared to the ST202 but i like it that way

And i actually do have lots of experience driving the E46 M3 and the 2nd gen RS4. I cant comment on the C63 as i havent driven it. But I had an IS-F for 36hrs as a loaner. In that time i put it properly through its paces. I cant help the fact that the IS-F genuinly was a diappointment for me. And i wanted to like it....but couldn't no matter how hard i tried.

And i dont know which car you've seen, but the IS-F i had was wearing what i can only describe as plastic exhaust tips - i inspected them very closely. But i stand corrected if i'm wrong. Regardless of material i still dont want fake tips on my car.

Didnt mean to rattle your cage there chap. Only a light bit of banter lol
