My only issue though is I miss having a V8 - which is a problem I'm working on rectifying. My wife has her car - the Subarus are my play things!
Ya if I wanted to have a different car for every single thing I miss about others I have had I would need at least 6!

Just a couple of weeks ago I went to look at a 69 Dart GTS. Had a 383, full blower, full cam and damn near everything else you can think of but still be street legal. It was the sweetest thing you ever saw (if you like the old stuff) but I was a day late and it had been sold.
That would have filled one spot for about $35K.

I absolutely LOVE the sound of the old style blowers. Love the wide belt and the belt noise. Maybe one of these days I'll get back into muscle cars.

He had already got the cash and handed over the keys so I didn't get to hear it run but it sure was purdy to look at. Not actually shopping but some day I will stumble across something else I can't resist as a toy.

This is definitely my plan. I really want the WRX, and figure i'll need something somewhat more practical in the future...but i cannot part with the FRS. So i'll just have to own both....

Geeze I thought I made good money.. RN career.. Paying my car note, student loans, and mortgage.. Wish I was blessed with extra dough to have a wrx lol.. Tbh I wanted an sti but couldn't afford it so I bought my twin.. But damn I love her!!

Kudos to OP tho.. If I had that kind of luxury to have a second car I'd.... Have used the money on a engagement ring

[QUOTE=billyk;2315023
- Maybe it's b/c I grew up driving old VW bugs, I adore the lack of cushy suspension in the FRS. I endlessly enjoy the immediacy with the road. But, I do find that many passengers in my FRS tire of it. That's why there's a passenger door.
[/QUOTE]

Ha. Couldn't agree more. I grew up with bugs, too. In fact, learned to drive in snow in one. Bugs were okay in snow because of the engine weight over the drive wheels. But it's weird how the FR-S sorta reminds me of my bug. Totally different thing, of course, but I guess it's just being able to feel the road through the steering wheel.

Haha. My SO and I are both hard working people and currently have no children. Hopefully no surprises coming soon. I think the most intelligent thing that we could do was to pay off our house. With both of us working and just paying for utilities and no longer having to pay a mortgage/rent we have a reasonable amount of disposal income in order to eat out and watch a movie as often as we like... And also buy cars we "need". There's nothing like like a two income household without a mortgage or children.

I really couldn't get rid of the FRS. She has of a lot of sentimental value and I absolutely love her. I lusted after the FRS for a couple years before I was able to convince my better half to allow me to get it. If I was faced with the choice of HAVING to trade it in for the WRX I would have kept my FRS and just bought a beater to do daily driving duties. You WILL not regret having both of these cars in your life.

I lusted after the FRS/BRZ/GT86 for a couple years before I was able to convince my better half to buy herself one! Ah, the best of both worlds!!

Great read.

I too get slightly bored with the FRS if I drive it every single day for long periods of time. Except the first month, other times I take my Fsport is250 only to realize a few days later that I can barely wait to wake up and drive it lol
