Who estimated? I'm guessing just the insurance adjuster, who didn't look at anything else other than the bumper, right? Make sure wherever you get it repaired at does a complete inspection of everything from the rear axle back.

That said, do a quick walk-around of the parking lot, see if there is any matching damage on any cars, particularly maroon or dark red cars. and Keep an eye out for any visitors with similar colors.

And threads like this make me so happy that I have a garage...

I took it to the dealer because I trust that they would inspect a little deeper, or at least be willing to help me if a problem occurs in the next 5000miles that appears to be directly related. Ill be sure to ask the service manager about inspections on the other parts.
I still need to finish exploring my place but I think it was a visitor.

Ya that seems absurdly low as my trunk got hit and that was $4600....

To be fair, alot of the initial insurance estimate is just a visual inspection. Its when you get to the body shop/mechanic that they dig in and check further for other damage. The final cost can run a lot more because they can find more damage once they start taking things apart (which I am guessing they haven't yet).
