Some ppl just dont get me. Im not trying to make an 11sec pass if i wanted to do that id take out the 95 c4. Im just trying to get the max potential power the fa20 has to offer. If this car ran 12's from the factory id be doing the same thing, trying to get 11's. If it was a 17 second car id be trying for 15's. It dont matter. I dont only 1/4 mile race. But the best way to see where you stand compared to other builds is dyno and 1/4mile. Not all dynos read the same. The 1/4mile just doesnt lie. Plus i think its fun, even in a 14.8 second 186whp brz.

Relax. I didn't buy it for 1/4mile. But i didnt buy it to just stare at it. And if i ever had to go back to stock power level id sell the car or burn it cause it (and i know u guys are gonna love this) is slow as shit from factory. Its like they said hey, lets build a awesome sports car and make it have just enough power to beat a scion tc lol. It checks every box except power. I cant drive that slow. All my cars need to have some type of balls. The brz came with none. But im performing ball surgery on it lol.

I agree that tire choice is more important than size. 225 drag radials on stock wheels would be the way to go, probably. But I don't think optimizing launching on a car not really built for it is a great idea. You can give yourself tons of grip and get your 60' times down to a decent figure, but at what cost? There's just no way the trans and diff were developed with super-hard clutch-drop 1st gear launches on sticky tires in mind. Is it worth it for a couple/few tenths in the quarter, getting you into the high 13s at best?

I agree that the 1/4-mile makes a great real-world reality-check dyno (took my LS2 FD to the drag strip when I took delivery for that purpose). But it's the trap speed that is the most telling, not E.T., and you don't need to optimize launch to get representative trap speeds. Personally, I wouldn't bother with trying to do better than maybe 2 second 60' times with the stock clutch/trans/diff, and you can probably achieve that on decent street 215/45-17s.

I'm not saying you have to stare at it...you can still drive a car fast NOT at a drag strip. (autox, local road course track days, drifting, etc) Everybody knows its slow stock...you're not the only person to think that. It just seems like you think the only way you can drive a car fast is in a straight line, and you are trying to optimize it for that. All I'm saying is this isn't the best car for that (which you know), so might as well optimize it for something like auto cross for example? Never been to a drag strip but I can imagine it's not as exciting as going to an actual track or competing in auto cross (at least with 200hp)

Even with only 186whp Hyundai genesis lose their money to me left and right. So i believe i picked the right car for drag and anything else. Its the underdog..if i wanna keep takin peoples paper its gotta go fast in a straight line as well. And i already said, the stock size cant be the optimal size for drag so 215/45/17 is no good and wont fit on a 16x8 anyway.

You should try it (not in a stock 86) as it is a rush!
Ya, it lasts a few seconds but those few seconds can pump you up in a way regular tracking can't touch.

Omg you're actually on the forums??? hahaha

Sorry guys can't take anything he posts seriously...

FYI This is his "prototype" intake he made and swore up and down that he knew for fact that it makes more power then any other intake out there just by his butt dyno... Never had any evidence on paper that said other wise.

Matter of fact I'd love to see any dyno sheets from you at all...

Wow, so much blue. And that intake, lmao. And now that I look closer at it, is there a open hole in the pipe on the left side after the filter?

uh.

Group buy?

And where did the MAF go? Although, it's probably just something that adds weight, so I guess I could do a MAF delete.
